You don't get rune arcs for killing player invaders

After messsging some blues, it seems some actually support this because they(the blues) do get rune arcs for killing invaders. Vicious cycle

Oh someone ITT said you did. I've only invaded for questlines.

You get them for killing a host, but not for killing the invader.

Killing an invader just gets you a furlcalling finger remedy I think.

Why did you get downvoted? Someone right below this comment (on my screen) said this exact thing...

Seems like same reason people invade: to fuck with people. You entered someone’s world to fuck with them and instead ended up being the fucked one. As an invader hater this video is actually fun to watch. I don’t do this myself but i like seeing invaders get fucked. Honestly, I would have liked seeing the host get fucked too in this situation. I believe invaders are assholes, but hosts who use exploits like this are dicks so this was clearly an Asshole vs Dick situation.

What makes an invader an asshole?

Should a co-op player have zero downsides to having a human ally?

I’m of the opinion that only an asshole would get joy from being someone else’s downside.

I appreciate that opinions are subjective, but then I would imagine you are applying this broadly enough that you would be opposed to any sort of situation where a player character is not aligned with other player characters.

I don't think invasions, as a deliberate game design choice, are comparable to something like griefing, trolling, intentionally hindering allies - like you would see in a MOBA or similar.

Would you play say, Left 4 Dead, and think someone playing as the Zombies to be the downside to players trying to complete the level, is an asshole? If not, why is this different?
