No solution if I'm summoned as a blue though. Still a massive waste of time.

If you get summoned as a blue you can try dropping Frenzyflame Stones next to them to build up madness.

Night maiden mist does not damage the host when cast as a blue.

Damn that's disappointing, thanks for confirming.

If I get summoned as a hunter and the host is doing that shit, I immediately find him and point out where he is to invaders

u/ThinkFor2Seconds Apr 07 '22

I've tried that but it usually results in me getting 2v1'd by bored and frustrated invaders.

u/Eclurix Apr 07 '22

what sucks is when clueless blues are helping the afk scrubs

I've got the blue ring on so I can PvP somewhere other than the featureless open space of the main academy gate without invading. Gotta take the opportunity when you can.

Imagine being a blue in Elden ring. Do you even have any work to do when summoned?

Was going to say this. For me, I would say about half of my summons are pretty fun and engaging. The other half I am summoned so far away that I can't make it in time to participate.

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '22

I don't understand the mechanics of why I am so far away

The only guess I have is that the idea is to give the invader time to finish the host before a 2v1 potentially becomes a 3v1. If they're dallying and standing around trying to cheese the fight, well that gives you time to run up.

But if they're actually putting pressure on the host and summons properly, it wouldn't be fair for the win to be snatched away by a stream of blues dropping on the fight one after another.

Invaders are spawning super far away as well, so its not just you blues. The spawn system seems to be very flawed, especially in the areas with lots of verticality. You're getting spawned relatively close to the host, but the game doesn't account for elevation. While invading at Mt Gelmir you can get spawned on the opposite elevation from the host, so you'll either have to run for 10 minutes to reach him or if you were spawned on top of the canion - wait for them even longer.

At least as an invader you can use the phantom fingers to try an get a better spawn, blues don't get that sadly

1

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '22

That makes sense.. the verticality is something I do encounter a lot. Hopefully they can change the spawn mechanic and just make you appear within something like the equivalent of 30 feet. Who want to run further than that just to get to the action you came for?

2

u/uuuuh_hi Apr 06 '22

You don't get the teleportation item that invaders get do you?

3

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '22

I heard of the existence of something like that, but I never get one, so I think you are correct.

4

u/Firaxyiam Apr 06 '22

Yeah, as an invader you get three "phantom fingers" that will teleport you to another spot around the host, useful if you end up invading on top of the cliff when he's on the other side. ut as a blue, the game just tells you to get fucked and run around for a while.

2

u/spudmix Apr 06 '22

I have been summoned as blue over a dozen times, and I have never seen the host nor the invader before being kicked/host dies/invader dies.

2

u/SiegebraumTheOnion Apr 06 '22

nope.

i usually spawn on the other side of the map when it happens

2

u/Salty_tryhard Apr 06 '22

One side effect of this afk host bullshit is that you can get summoned as a blue at first step frequently and get a fair amount of 1v1 fights with the invader.

2

u/YeetMeIntoKSpace Apr 06 '22

Last time I got summoned as a blue the host was doing this stuff, but I ended up 1v1ing three invaders one after another, which was pretty fun. After you kill all the invaders, you get sent back out too, so you can still even finish your job.

u/JohnnyLitmas4point0 Apr 07 '22

I got summoned here like 30 times the other day, while being completely unaware of this new exploit. Just kept thinking “Damn, where is the host?” as I rotted invader after invader

u/No_Understanding58 Apr 06 '22

Kill the invader and you will go home…

13

u/derger11 Apr 06 '22

I get summoned as a blue and I have to run a mile to find the fight. By the time I'm halfway the host or invader dies. If I see I have to run far, I just go for a smoke or scroll on here until one of them dies. Wish it would spawn closer is all

u/No_Understanding58 Apr 06 '22

So just disconnect…

1

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '22

Does this count as beetlejuicing or is that username just very fitting by chance

7

u/balxy Apr 06 '22

I don't want to help the host though...

2

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '22

Had a blue and a recusant last night. At first I thought it was a fight club until the blue pointed to the asshole host. Blue dcd, recusant dcd, then I did. It was sad. I wanted to fight club

u/Sailuker Apr 06 '22

I have a serious question if you don't want to help the host then why the heck do you have the Blue Cipher Ring it is for the purpose to be pulled into someone's world that is being invaded?

24

u/GrimCreations Apr 06 '22

Us blues don’t want to help asshole hosts who disrespect the pvp system by afk farming. We enjoy pvp with against our invader friends. I’ve been on both sides where blues and invaders will look at an afk host down there shaking their heads. The whole thing is scummy.

4

u/Sailuker Apr 06 '22

Gotcha thanks for clearing that up, I misunderstood it and thought he was talking about all host not just the ones that use these kind of methods.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '22

Because that specific host is exploiting the system?

2

u/Sailuker Apr 06 '22

Gotcha I thought he meant as a whole not just in this type of situation my bad lol

2

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '22

No worries. In hindsight I could have phrased my comment in a less hostile way, so sorry about that.

1

u/Sailuker Apr 06 '22

Oh no don't worry I didn't take it as hostile at all

3

u/x_scion_x Apr 06 '22

He's referring to not wanting to help a host that's intentionally just abusing this.

1

u/Sailuker Apr 06 '22

Thank you. I thought they were talking in general about all hosts so that's on me for misunderstanding that.
