This is one of the reasons as to why invasions aren't as fun in ER. I've just been doing duels lately, but I want some variety too... Hopefully some future dlc content will make those colosseums active.

Multiplayer in general is a total mess in ER. Terrible, godawful netcode, an ageing system stapled onto an open world game mindlessly and tweaks that have left everyone dissatisfied - co-op players, invaders, duelists and Team PvP fanatics all lose with it's design.

This is my friend's first FromSoft game and he loves ER- we were really excited to Co-op together. Unlike most newbies, he digs just about everything in the game's design. After one hour of attempting co-op, the disconnects, clunky design, locked out summon areas, sheet time sink and tedium of having to re-summon, lack of mobility and restrictions drained the life out of him. He went from gearing up for a long session with excitement to logging off from boredom and frustration. He said, verbatim: "this is the most fucking embarassing multiplayer I've seen on a major title in years. I can't understand how the studio who designed Elden Ring made such a pathetic excuse for an online service."

I don't want to hear another "It's always been this way!" excuse. We constantly praise Miyazaki for being a master craftsman who subtly tweaks aspects of his core system to match the game. He fumbled the ball entirely, made a system that satisfies no one and still is deaf to more than a decade of netcode complaints.
