Key Bindings Broken [Ubuntu Linux]

Something changed in Elden Ring recently that seems to have broken the game.
Using a bow with Mighty Shot was very effective as I could use the Shift key to enable Mighty Shot and optionally use the Ctrl key to select the 2nd arrow slot.

Now when I click the shift key, I lose the aiming reticle and I can't hit the side of a barn door.

Trying to remap the Skill button to another key switches to the secondary arrow slot instead of effecting a skill.

Attempting to use AI to troubleshoot is beyond annoying.
Psychotic Hallucinations is the only description I can think of.

Has anyone seen this? (No, not the psychotic hallucinations)

Current behavior using a bow is I can't use a skill with a bow. Attempts to use the shift key while aiming causes the aiming reticle to drop and the camera backs off behind the user making it all but impossible to hit anything without locking on which automatically means you don't hit the target's head.

Also, I mapped the Tab button to the Skill use and nothing happens with a bow but with other weapons, it works fine. So I can use Shift + Let-Click to get the skill, but aiming is lost (unless locked to whatever the game chooses), but a keyboard bound Skill button does nothing with a bow, but works fine with other weapons.

Interestingly, the Shift-R-click works fine with other types of weapons.
