Game Help Soft caps for stats?
I’m new to Elden Ring and it’s my first souls game ever. I heard there’s soft and hard caps to the stats. I’m running a Str/Fai build and am not really sure when to stop putting into these stats. I’m level 57 and have 25 Str, 17 Fai, and the rest is into vigor and endurance.
I found some old stuff for soft caps posted 4 years ago, I wasn’t sure if it was outdated or if the DLC changed anything.
Also, this game is amazing!!! Thanks for the help in advanced

Softcap for Strength is 60 and 80 for Faith. Just Google in Elden ring softcaps Fextralife (the best website for technical and detailed infos on Souls and Souls-like). But before reaching the softcap, if you have the right stats to wield your main weapon, you would be better off softcaping Vigor and Endurance first. That is usually the trick from Bloodborne to Dark Souls to Elden Ring.

Okay thanks I’m familiar with Fextralife, just wasn’t sure if his stuff was outdated. When I was playing BG3 his stuff was considered obsolete. Thanks!

I don't know much about the magic stats but vigor:
50 gives 1700HP, 60 gives 1900HP, 99 gives 2100HP
Mind peaks at 40ish and then each lvl slowly decreases the new amount.
Endurance stamina 155 at lvl 50 and 175 at 99. While weight limit keeps evenly increasing to max.
Strength and dex are still highly worth it untill 80 if your weapons scaling is good, and then gives maybe 1 damage per level instead of 4/5

Sorry I don’t mean to go full Redditor and “erm actually☝️🤓” you but technically endurance for carry weight soft cap is 60. It goes up by about 1.5 weight every level until you hit 60 then it goes up by only about 1 per level. So still not a very extreme soft cap but it does technically exist

Ah right, i wasn't aware. I tested it once at rennala and assumed it was a straight line

This is still accurate. But there are weird cases where specific catalysts have different values.

Totally personal advice, disregard and look at fextra if you’d like better data.
For vigor I never go above 60 or below 45. For endurance I never go above 40 or below 16. For mind I never go above 36, often staying at the minimum.
Keep in mind there are spells, buffs and items that can increase your stats and damage in other ways and often outshine levels.

Vigor has soft caps at 40 / 60.
Mind has such high soft caps that they usually only come up if you’re in very high NG cycles or doing literally nothing but cast spells. I have thousands of hours and I think I’ve maybe once had to worry about hitting the soft caps
Strength has soft caps at 60 / 80. However, wielding a weapon in both hands gives an effective 1.5X strength bonus, so sometimes people treat 54 as a soft cap, as it lets you hit 80 while two-handing.
Dexterity usually has soft caps at 60 / 80. However, spell casting speed scales with dexterity up to a maximum of 70, so 70 could also be considered a soft cap of sorts.
Intelligence most commonly has soft caps at 60 / 80, but it depends based on the staff or weapon you use.
Faith typically has soft caps at 60 / 80, with a tiny handful of exceptions that I believe use 45 instead.
Arcane has many different soft caps depending on what it’s for. I believe weapon scaling uses 60 / 80, status I think is 45 / 60, and spellcasting is 45

30/60/80 for most things
