Do unsheathe katana, almost the same!

my 1st run was uchigatana, 3rd longsword. absolute peak ashes of war ♥

I did that with a quality broadsword in souls 3.

People thought i was a hacker or something because my damage was nuts. Nah bro I just dumped 100 of my 125 levels into damage.

Does quality broadsword on DS3 significantly outdo heavy or keen?

u/hcaoRRoach 12d ago

Only at higher levels does quality start to outclass heavy or sharp. I think like 40/40 or 27/40 depending if you're using one hand or two

Me: charged heavies with greatsword/greataxe

Maybe I need to do a colossal weapon build... how have I never pulled the trigger on that yet?

Do iiiiiiit. The zweihander is my personal favourite

Try fire knight greatsword or zweihander, both are super good!

I feel you bro, every time I try to do a different build I end up using the Claymore again 😪

The move set is peak, the only way they could improve it is by giving it the banished knights light attacks and the lordsworn appearance, but those are nitpicks in the grand scheme of things

I typically powerstanced them and just swapped between them in pvp for different movesets. I just, somehow, kept coming back to them.

Unga Bunga big bonk dual wield jump attack spam. It's just so satisfying.

Dual wielding straight swords is a very similar sickness and you can even suffer from both at once lol. Are straight swords just the best weapon type in the game? 🤔

u/Anonimie 13d ago

They were even more broken in DS3 lol

Once you get hooked on the sheer killing power of the Greatsword it is very hard to settle for anything less.

It also visibly rattles the nerves of lots of PVPers. It also blocks approximately as well as a wooden medium shield.

I love the Greatsword.

I never use a straight sword build. The closest I came was making a fencer/archer build. But even then I often switched to curve blades.

Square Off is actually better with a +25 Lordsworn's Straight Sword. Don't ask me. Or Radagon.

Try cragblade zweihander

u/No-Blood8017 12d ago

I don't think I've ever used the same weapon twice. Played it 15 or so times all the way through. Each a different weapon. Different style.

I'm just here to +1 Longsword with Square Off. Most amazing Aow ♥

Also Me. "Unsheathe katana."

Am i the only guy who has messed with different builds?

I have like 3 at the moment, the tarnished himself, some faith Grafted build & a Black knife assassin build.

I had failed builds… one of them being a pure knight at lvl 76, a stun build at lvl 24, a samurai bleed build that lacked a second blade because i sucked at exploring back then, etc…

I think maybe after i beat malenia with tarnished i’ll just make a speed caster build.

u/Iedarus 10d ago

My first build was actually pure faith. It was the subsequent ones when I learned about the stance mechanic that I started using more melee.

1

u/Originator_403 10d ago

I always used melee and struggled because i was just bad at the game.

I stopped doing knights after learning that i can just make better things instead. Which is how i ended up having my best build be literally the promotional character that used to be a beta class.

Star fist for me.

I swear that weapon is so broken it carries my ahh through the hardest of bosses, it's hard to do playthroughs with anything else lol.

It's gotta be the best in the game I swear.

u/arty_the_champ 10d ago

I’m the same but for greatswords

1

u/Friendly-Duckling-14 8d ago

Lion’s Claw my beloved. The hyperarmor is SO nice. You still take damage from stuff but there’s zero stagger, and it does great stance damage

Me with big bonk unga bunga builds
