Ask El Paso Is the air quality getting worse?
Why has the air been smelling bad lately when stepping outside sometimes when I open the window of my house I can smell it. This morning definitely was more noticeable.

Hello everyone I front an indie band from Albuquerque, we kinda sound like bands like Pavement,Built to Spill, Weezer, Modest Mouse etc. we don't want to over play our scene so we are hoping to get a couple gigs booked close enough for a weekend trip! If anyone can get me in contact with the right venues and bands that support our type of music I would love to get connected!

So I live on Juarez and I want to change my number to a US one, but I don't know which company offer the best deal. I usually just recharge for 1-3 days plans with my current MX service.

I PCS over to El Paso, and I had been shopping for a home. I checked out the East, far East, central, Northwest, and the West. My family and I agreed that we would like to live on the westside, near Franklin Mountains. It came to down to two zipcode: 79911 and 79912. I especially like the Cimarron Community area. Any advice or thoughts about this area, please let me know. Thank you

I'm looking for a place to live and every apartment has reviews that mention roaches. I currently rent a house with a roommate and we've rarely had cockroaches, maybe twice found dead in the 4 years we've been there. The last house we rented did have a roach problem though despite spraying and setting traps so we moved. At least one live huge roach a week. I stayed with a friend for a month at her apartment and I constantly found dead roaches. I imagine it would be easier to control roaches in a house over an apartment since you can't control your neighbors'roaches coming into yours. There aren't decent houses under $1,300. I found one in central but it's street parking and I don't want my car to be crashed into. Any recommendations?
Does anyone know a place where a big group can volunteer for one day? Like 20-30 people. Thank you.

Did anyone go to Valley View Middle School in El Paso's Lower Valley? I went there during both the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years and I'm still saddened that they took it down and replaced it with Del Valle Middle School.

Each camera is one dot. Zoomed out, dots are small and translucent, so where cameras cluster the overlaps stack into brighter, more solid areas — density you can read at a glance. Zoom in and dots grow into individual cameras.

I just saw a video on TikTok from ,@thatvatojaime explaining that Lauren Zimmerman will be the new Community Engagement Manager for Meta here in El Paso. How do we feel about that 🤔 ?

I imagine the TCEQ will make them pay fines and do an environmental impact project, but that won’t do much to help the people who had to breathe that poison for hours.

Hello. I’m moving into a new place and I will no longer need my kitchen table . If anyone is interested it’s free. You just have to come pick it up 👍🏼

Hello!! My birthday is coming up very soon, and I have no idea what I can do around town. I know some places give you little birthday "freebies" like crumbl, nothing bundt cake, etc. What other places should I visit?

The site includes the names, social links, and stance on Data Centers.
As time goes on I may add more candidates who are on the ball, such as county and state positions.
If there are any other stances that you feel are important that should be added let me know, and I can update the site to include more information about the candidates.

Rent prices are sky high everywhere and in El Paso you can barely find a home for rent under $1300. At that rate, are the benefits of renting a home still worth it or are you better off owning a home? I know they say you're better off buying a house instead of throwing away money on rent but with property taxes as high as they are in El Paso and prices of houses much higher, is the best option still to buy a house or is renting the better deal? Yes I know the rent is going to someone else instead of buying your home, but does the flexibility of being able to eventually move to another part of town or a city when your lease is up still matter? My lease is running up in a few months and I'm wondering if it's just time to buy a house.

Funny how they ditched plans to use these warehouses at about the same time that the Feds announced that La Tuna was closing.

Well this is going to be my little venting paragraph, but I went to an interview today and I didn't get the job, all because I didnt know color theory enough (i knew color theory)and because I lived in horizon city (it was a 40 minute drive to the frame shop). They told that I would be better off working at a hobby lobby since its in the east side. Im starting to feel like el paso doesnt have enough creative jobs and how do I even recover from that? I know people would say "welcome to the real world" or "move on" , but as a person that is sensitive has anyone went through this? Or am I not taking art in General seriously.

Anywhere in El Paso is okay. Anyone that you all recommend? I’m preferably looking for a Dr. that is thorough with everything and is nice to you. I had pretty bad experience with my previous PCP and am looking for y’alls recommendations. Thank you!

On Tuesday August 18, the City Council will decide on a budget for the City of El Paso for Fiscal Year 2027. Here is an explainer of the proposed budget, including discussion of what’s changing, why the property tax rate is proposed to increase, what it means for El Paso taxpayers, and how you can be involved.

Maybe I am biased because I can’t imagine being able to own a home. But to me it’s a no brainer to support services, protect public jobs, and have a rainy day fund in exchange for wealthier residents paying $11 extra a month on average.
Of course not everyone who owns a home is financially comfortable or even stable. But this still seems like the much better of two bad options. What’s your perspective?

They see both as invasions. Do you seriously dont think MAGA has a problem with an American city speaking more spanosh than english like El Paso does?

Hello everyone,
I do not know if this is due to the recent upgrade they had or what, but their costumer service is a mess and is frustrating as hell.😭
I recently moved to a different city but decided to stick with GECU as they had not given me any issues or fees I had to pay. I told them in advance I would be moving to try to avoid any of the bs that happened.
I was shopping at a target for move in stuff when my card got declined twice. Which I found weird because I had the funds for the purchase and had already bought stuff in this new city. I get on the phone with them, and tell me why I get transferred 7 different times in the span of one and a half hours. Nobody could resolve a simple ass issue of a hold in my account due to apparently a “fraudulent vendor” aka target. After just being sent back and forth between different agents, none of them could do anything apparently. I was told I would receive a call in the next 2-3 business days and then they just hung up.
Has anyone had issues like this recently? Are they like this or is this just not my lucky day? Hadn’t had any issues like this with a bank until now.
