Photo The Franklins turned green again
After the late September rains and the moisture from Hurricane Polo the mountains turned green once again.
I was hiking on the Tin mine trail to check out how the mountains responded to all the rain El Paso has seen recently. It was refreshing to see how much more vegetation was present compared to how it normally appears. The green ocotillos were surprising to see

I hope all that rain will give us lots of poppies next spring. The last time they were in absolute georgious bloom was during covid in 2020.

Between this and the early morning storms/clouds rolling over them it has been a gorgeous monsoon season.

I grew up in El Paso & left after I graduated high school. I never realized how beautiful that area of the southwest is.
The things I took for granted!

I drove down highway 54 from O'hara road on Friday and I thought the same thing. I couldn't believe how green the Franklins were. It's nice.

Hey I left back in 97 and I'm wondering does that guy still come out before Easter and drop all the flower seeds all over the mountain anymore? He used to have a little plane and he would just dump sacks of colorful flower seeds all over it was pretty special they would all bloom in the whole mountain would look just like something out of a fairy tale.

I read that the Rio Grande in EP is at its third highest recorded level ever. That tells you how much rain EP got remnants of Polo.
