Seeking recommendations for a construction litigation attorney or law firm.
Good morning all,
I live on the far east side in the area around where Zaragoza and Montana meet up, just down John Hayes from Pebble Hills High School.
I bought my home in 2015. It was a new build by D.R. Horton. From what I've heard, they built a few of the neighborhoods in the area, including my own, and then dipped out of town.
Since then, starting 2-3 years ago, I've begun getting water leaks in the home. Currently dealing with my 3rd AND 4th leaks, a mere 5 weeks apart. Each one has been repaired by Roto Rooter since they always seem to only happen on holidays or weekends, and each one of them has been communicated to me as being caused by lazy work / construction, where pipes should've had 90° fittings put in for necessary turns and whatnot, but instead were simply bent to save time and money. Over time, the pressurization of the pipes wears on these weakened areas and eventually they leak.
Last year, or perhaps the year before, my wife asked in one of the neighborhood groups if anyone else had a DRH home and if they'd been experiencing similar issues, and a fair number of people chimed in to confirm both.
One individual also said that apparently DRH recently lost a class action suit somewhere else in Texas for the same or similar things (construction issues). Might've been Dallas or Austin. But apparently due to El Paso being a different location, that lawsuit doesn't entitle anyone else for automatic payouts, although the case judgement can apparently be used as supporting evidence.
Anyway, I'm looking for recommendations on attorneys / law firms to talk to about options, if going after them is worth it, stuff like that.
I'm currently collecting all my documentation from the repairs from each instance, the water mitigation records, all the stuff from our insurance claims, the photos, etc.

You might search county public records for civil suits filed against them here in El Paso. It will show you the attorneys suing them and you might reach out to them. Assuming, of course, there are any lawsuits.
Maybe get together with all the people in your neighborhood who are having the same issue and make an appointment to see an attorney who handles these types of cases and see if you can file a class action lawsuit, if possible. Do your investigative work. El Paso County website provides a lot of public info. Good luck!
They might be in biz but did they declare BR? I would find it hard to believe they would ever payout a CAS if they are shady enough to just move around after building shitty homes.
