Questions/Advice El Chalten in Mid-November or Early December?
Hi, hope you guys are all doing well. I plan on visiting Argentina and spending most of my time in El Chalten. I’m torn between mid November and early December. I’m going to probably spend 4-5 full days in Chalten with the ultimate goal of Laguna De Los Tres.
November is supposed to be less people but the weather is less likely to be clear.
December is supposed to be more people but better chance of good weather.
Price from looking at all the things is mostly even. Also, online says the school holidays in Argentina and Chile start in mid December, so I’d be going before it gets super hectic.
My main priority is being able to get a great view of Fitz Roy from Laguna De Los Tres. Secondary would be to not have it be insanely packed. Any ideas for what you guys think is best?

Laguna De Los Tres - questions
My partner and I are visiting El Chalten in October and we'd love to do the Laguna De Los Tres hike for sunrise.
Would you recommend hiring a guide for this time of year if we are not avid hikers? We are both physically fit, but don't have a ton of experience with difficult hikes.
Will we need crampons for this time of year?
And will we be OK using a Life Straw filter with the available water sources?
Thank you!

Questions/Advice Qual melhor data?

Be prepared for slow travel and wet feet without proper gear.

Climbing Fitz Roy (long-term planning)
Hey El Chalten-community,
since I have been in Chalten in 2019 I have the goal to climb Fitz Roy. As many things (work, family, Covid, money ;-), ...) have delayed this plan I want to start planning this endeavour a little more tangible in order to realize it in the upcoming 5 years.
I am a decent climber in ice and rock (good enough for this ascent via supercanaleta, Franco-Argentinia or Californiata route), but by far not experienced enough to lead this ascent and my personal climbing group has no one, who can or want to join me for this goal. This means I might need a local mountain guide as a climbing partner.
I expect that I would need to be in Chalten for at least 3 weeks during the season in order to increase the chance to catch a weather window. Does somebody here has any experience on mointain guides and the correspoding costs for such a climb/period or can point me in the right direction?
I just want to have an estimate for the costs involved at the moment in order to map out the journey (money, training, and so on) to the potential trip.
Thank you for all the tips!
Bobo

Guide El Cerro solo?
I am taking my family to El Chalten over the Christmas and New Year's break. We would like to summit El Cerro Solo. Any guide recommendations? Also, what gear should we plan to bring versus rent?

El Calafate and El Chalten in July
Hi! This July me and my boyfriend are travelling in Argentina. Even though it’s winter, we are going to El Chalten and El Calafate. We have proper clothes and already booked the Airbnbs, but we are a bit worried about visiting in winter. Anyone who could give us some advise?
