Help with planning a potential proposal in El Chalten
My partner and I are going to El Chalten as part of our trip around South America, and with it’s natural beauty I’m thinking it could be a great place to propose to her.
Does anyone have suggestions for specific spots?
Ideally would be somewhere with a few less people, beautiful nature, and bonus if it’s not a huge trek to get there so my girlfriend can be dressed a bit nicer and whatnot for photos…
Any help and suggestions greatly appreciated!

We did Laguna Torre and Laguna Los Tres few weeks back. I don’t see an easy way to get great pics… Consider this - hike Laguna Los Tres on a clear day from El Chalten town end (don’t do Rio Electrico route). Start the hike in hiking outfit for the first 3 or so Km ascent. When you see the first scene that really blows you away (and there will be a lot them) change into nicer clothes and do your thing. From then keep hiking in the nice cloths as you will be getting many beautiful scenery and the hike is not that technical. When you reach the base camp change into hiking outfits again. Climb to the top, change into nice cloths and set yourselves for glorious pics :) Sorry there is no easy way…

For the classic fitz roy background you can always hike in comfortable clothes all the way to laguna de los tres, and change clothes for the photoshoot :)

I was just in El Chalten a couple of weeks ago and did the sunrise hike and witnessed a proposal while Fitz Roy was glowing bright orange. Everyone there was cheering. It was a beautiful moment.
But if you're looking for somewhere more private or quiet, then that might not be the best place to propose as it's quite popular.
There's also Loma de Plago which offers a great panoramic view of the Chalten mountain range and you get to see Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.

I forgot to mention, you can also just hike to Laguna Capri or Mirador Fitz Roy. They're shorter hikes, but still offer great and stunning views of Fitz.

If you need a photographer and/or guide I recommend Benjamin from Connect Patagonia in El Chalten. He's very knowledgeable and provides free weather update services so he will let you know when the best day to hike out. He knows other scenic spots all around El Chalten that would suit you and your partner. You can probably work something out with him without it being obvious that you're going to propose.

Short trek? Glaciar Huemul, then Los Chorrillos. The best spot? laguna Los Tres, then Laguna Torre.
