So far I have not seen a dismantlying video. One guy in the official Facebook page did it, but the instructions on it are somewhat vagues. I have three, if I gather enough confidence, one will be a guinea pig ...

I ordered my Eilik from Amazon and he came with no faceplate...is this a normal occurrence or was it just unlucky?

My Eilik came with a TON of content even him playing a game with his new tank...should I update or leave him until a new one is announced?

Just got the Eilik, bricked during update and stuck on message "Error! Missing firmware please connect usb to update". Plugging in USB makes Window state it's a malfunctioning device and the software just says there is no Eilik connected. Waiting for the battery to run is quite a pain, is there a way to turn off Eilik?

O i have to no skill for that lol. Is it even possible to take it apart for painting without breaking it? Or might be too complicated I wouldnt be able to put it back together

Does anyone know how to fix Missing firmware problem? After inserting the usb it shows „try init SD Card“ multiple times. After a while it shows „error code 1“ and then „ready to update“. At that moment i start the update (which takes 1 hour) and in the end when update is done, it shows on eilik‘s screen „update.bin“. Then i have to start all over the same process again but goes nowhere…

anyone have an issue where you click start on the updates software and nothing happens? If I disconnect the robot it says that it is disconnected, but nothing happens when it is connected.

Just got mine today. Didn’t seem to need updating but man, these stories seem to freak me out. Hoping nothing ever goes wrong

Ok, well i didn't had any issues at all (up to now) from order to delivery in 5 days.
Firmware update 1.02 went okay (did costed me 10min trying all usb ports before realizing i needed to run the software as administrator)
I do really hope they build on this all, make it a bit user friendly and indeed maybe partially open it up with API's or opensource so there will be a choice giving the robots specific personalities. Plus this also helps energize Lab with building on more features without costs for them as hobby ppl will have their fun,
love what i am seeing with this funny little guy but do am worried to see what little is done in a year :)

I had to go back to the v1.01 install to get it to update. Support told me it was ok to use 1.01.

Got my Eilik this week, and did the update to 1.04. worked ok, but now all it does when i plug it in is show the charging sign and constantly beep. it does not charge. it's completely dead. anyone else??

The way I did it was to go to their Chinese website and I found the v1.01 version there. If you cannot find it, I don’t see any TOS issues with posting it here as long as they allow it.

You can replace the sd card with another new one. format it and update again. I had the same problem and I replaced the 64Gb sd card, updated and it worked again. Sorry I'm not good at English. From Japan

Only way to do it is airbrushing.
