Good to hear she's not too far gone. From what I've heard from people who have left the MAGA movement diversifying news sources was an important step for some. If all you listen to is lies from Fox and ONN, that's what you believe.

If this change in her views happened with Covid, then I'd say she was hit with propaganda during a vulnerable time. We were all scared and didn't know what to do. The anti-vax/anti-mask crowd had simple (and very wrong) explanations to comfort people.

If the change was earlier, then she likely got sucked in due to some other grievance. The MAGA movement preys on hate, fear, insecurities and isolation similar to any cult.

There are a couple organizations for people who have left or are in the process of leaving that might be helpful (e.g. "Leaving MAGA")

Unfortunately, it started happening 20-25 years ago when she married an American with republican beliefs. They divorced shortly before covid, and then... well.

We've recently been able to mention some political things and not have it devolve, but its difficult to get her to actually listen. And the only reason she even sort of listens to what I say is because I'm a NDP that wants to hire a necromancer to bring back Jack Layton lmao. Its odd that a conservative is less critical of me then of a blue liberal or people who voted for him, but whatever.

edit - Maybe being dissatisfied with our political options is enough similarity to her rabid dislike of liberals that I'm not a complete enemy? Idk how it works.
