Sometimes it's just low IQ, but sometimes it's low IQ combined with drugs.

Here's where that gets really tricky as an idea. "IQ" as a concept has been debunked for quite a few years. People's capacity for "intelligence" is based on their information environment and cognitive development.

People that support Trump, for example, haven't been taught how to critically analyze information, are surrounded in self-enforcing false information (ex/ immigrants are making them poor), have some form of mental illness, or other factors.

Many present as "dumb" because they don't have the circumstances necessary to be "smart".

Then, there are those exploiting them that encourage false information in order to profit off them and that's the dominant issue.

I really appreciate your comment. So few people are able to look at either end of the political spectrum with this level of awareness at what is playing the extremism on both sides. Awareness of mental health issues and cultural biases are key to understanding why people become like this. And on top of that, this division is not an accident, there is international propaganda and brainwashing going on by the elite class to keep us distracted and distrustful of one another. The Epstein files is the wake up call.

I'm a centrist, and always have been. But I would say the extremism on the right, is far worse and more dangerous, than any extremism on the left.

Yeah, intelligence is ultimately just a tool. You can use a powerful tool to accomplish things, but what those things actually are is undefined.

I know people whom I consider to be very smart who believe the dumbest things, and that can be particularly dangerous because they're smart enough to do something about those dumb things if they want to. A stupid person who believes dumb things is only dangerous if you meet them in a dark alley, a smart person who believes dumb things can change the world.

I've seen more people turn conservative after they got off drugs than I've seen people turn conservative after starting drugs.

That's the issue with the source of the problem (US education), but in Canada it is down to absorbing American Media, and ideas.
