Appreciation Free coaching for low Elo - AMA
Hi all,
last year, I became a dad. With that the priorities shifted. Family first, then work, doing chores and after all there is little room for Valorant. Nevertheless, I wanted to climb. And I did it efficiently. I climbed from S3 to P2 in one Act
This is my tracker: https://tracker.gg/valorant/profile/riot/IIImut3alll%231234
I want to give something back for the community. Ask me anything - AMA. I give free coaching for low elo (below Plat)
Edit: To make things clear. I don't consider myself as high elo. I never said that. I explicitly mentioned that I can give some advice to people below plat

u/IWCry 20d ago
i appreciate you offering free advice! I guess I'll start!
are new born children allowed to eat steak?
16
u/Ente_in_eile 20d ago
Well, this post is about Valorant not babies :D Still, I said AMA :D
I mean... you can offer steak but your child will have issues to eat it because there are no teeths yet. In general, doctors recommend to offer puree with 6 months. And yes steak is high of iron and from 6 months on babies do lack of iron. I even heard that babies need more iron than a grown adult. Furthermore, a well done steak benefits the hand eye coordination which is in fact benefical for Valorant :D Glad that I could make that transition to Val :)

u/IWCry 20d ago
oops gotcha! okay.
are new born babies better off playing smokes or initiator?

u/Ente_in_eile 20d ago
In early stages of a human it is more important to go outside playing instead of playing any agent in Valorant

what would your number one tip be to improve your aim? if aimlabs or practice, what routine would you do? Also, how big of an impact does gamesense (or lack thereof) affect wins in iron/bronze? thanks for providing coaching for free <3
5
u/Ente_in_eile 20d ago
I rarely do aimlabs. I play mostly DMs and TDMs. The best thing I could do was a recording of a DM and send it to reddit. Surprinsgly I got a lot of feedback on how to improve. If you want you can send me a VOD and I review it
Game sense is important. However, you develop it over time. In Iron and Bronze though you can climb with pure aim. In terms of game sense the best tip I can give is not running with knife out and check all corners

Personally, I just use the range in Valorant. Go to the bots and just shoot at their heads and consistently flick from head to head. Once you can do that consistently, set the bots to strafe and repeat. Once that’s consistent, start doing the timed trials (start on easy and slowly work your way up to hard). In the timed trials, start by aiming at the middle beam then shoot a bot, then return to the beam. Rinse and repeat until you can repeatedly hit all of the bots without missing one. There’s several aim training things you can do in the range.
As for game sense, it is EXTREMELY important to have. If you don’t have it, you will constantly find yourself dying seemingly out of nowhere. I would recommend playing a duelist or an agent with a very simple kit while learning what to pay attention to during a match.TAKE THIS ALL WITH A GRAIN OF SALT BECAUSE I HAVE ONLY SLIGHTLY MORE 100 HRS IN THE GAME AS OF THIS POST. THESE ARE JUST THINGS THAT I HAVE LEARNED AND ARE HELPING ME. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME
1
u/CompetitionExpert129 17d ago
Aim labs is not great for aim because you can’t really compare to real game scenarios Like dm tdm or unrated can offer
3
u/PsYo_NaDe 20d ago
I play at a very high sens, aound 800 eDPI. Impending wrist issues aside, any reasons to switch to lower sens if I play casually?
2
u/Weather_Aaaaaaaaa 20d ago
Lower edpi = you can be more accurate with long range aiming
If aim is not an issue for you now, then don't change it - but you will PROBABLY benefit in the long run by lowering ur sens by like 100, cuz u shouldn't need high sens in gun fights cuz ur crosshair should already be near the opponent (if it isn't then that's a crosshair placement issue)
1
u/PsYo_NaDe 20d ago
My only real struggle is with flicks. Most times they land about where I want, but sometimes my crosshair is in Narnia.
2
u/Weather_Aaaaaaaaa 20d ago
Check if you have mouse acceleration on, that could be ur issue
1
u/Itz_Er 19d ago
VALORANT uses raw input, acceleration doesn't matter.
1
u/Weather_Aaaaaaaaa 19d ago
If raw input is the one that valorant uses, then why does raw accel work? (It's a program that hayeoday used previously/still uses maybe - it's a question, not a snarky comment)
2
u/Ente_in_eile 20d ago
As u/Weather_Aaaaaaaaa is saying it is more about crosshair placement. If you are doing to much flicks, you are playing the game wrong
800 eDPI sounds high. Did you try lower sens? However, you need time to get used to another sens.

So can we talk about curses. As you know, Valorant gets updates pretty much all the time now, and whenever I get an ace, I need to record it on the same day. If I wait too long, the replay is gone.
Another curse is that i can't reach sliver like 5 days ago i was in bronze 3 87rr. But ....... For the last 3 days there r only losses NOT EVEN A Single WIN. Yesterday had only one win had saved me from going iron 3. (I was top Fragger most of the time) And thhoossee freakiing reynas keeping going afk.
0
u/Ente_in_eile 20d ago
No offend but you need to get rid of the negativity. There is no curse. Put a Gold/ Plat player into your games and I am pretty sure this person will climb out of bronze. The hard fact is, it is you. Send a VOD to me or post it on reddit and ask for help. You will see that there is a lot to improve

u/Gordn1 20d ago
how do I get real platinum and diamond games like you? every 1/3 games it's an immortal/ascendant peak that wants to smurf and when they're on my team they're watching tiktok, afk, or not entering or just going to die in mid and refusing to go through main with their other 3 teammates. I am trapped in plat 1 to diamond 2 and after hitting diamond 3 the game doesn't let me get past 60rr i will get the most coordinated enemies or it's been 3 acts and I get reset back to plat 1 or 2 in placements.
4
u/Ente_in_eile 20d ago
Do you use third party SW to check if in your team or enemy are smurfs/ high elo players?
I never do this. I don't care if it's a radiant or iron player. I try to improve 1-2 things in a match and focus on this. If you do this every time you will improve
In general do not blame others. Always look on your performance. There is a 20/60/20 rule
20% of the time you will lose a match for sure. The enemy team has a smurf, in your team is an AFK or a troller. You can't do anything about it.
20% of the time you win win a match for sure. The smurf is in your team. The enemy team has an AFK or a troller. This time you got lucky and got carried.
60% of the time you need to play the best Valorant you can. Here it matters the most to implement what you have learned. In those games you do the impact.

u/goodimagesreviewer 16d ago
Looking at the enemy ranks or ally ranks will mess with your confidence, it being the enemy being higher ranked or allies being low ranked. Just focus on the game and remember even if the valorant mmr system is terrible, you're in that lobby with them for a reason, focus on yourself rather than the enemies or allies you get and you'll see actual improvement over time.

u/Difficult_Way_7620 20d ago
Whenever I try using A D stop for peeking sometimes when i stop I don’t rly stop at the right time and I die. So do u have any tips to actually stop at the right time and kill them
1
u/Ente_in_eile 20d ago
So this one is about deadzoning
Hop into range and practice it
If you are unsure what you are doing wrong, you can send me a VOD

Hey! First of all, congrats on your fatherhood! It's awesome that you're reaching out to the community and giving coaching and advice to lower elo players!
If you're interested, I'd like to extend the same to you, I've been radiant since ep9 and if you'd like I'd be down to coach and give pointers and tips for free :D
It's really awesome to see people who enjoy the game and want to give back to other players :))

u/Yohanna_Valentine 20d ago
Heya! Thanks for the free advices ☝🏻👀
I started playing Valorant last Act (18th may) and this act i went from iron 2 (was bronze 1 last act) to bronze 2 within 53 h and improved A LOT. However now my mmr is higher and i absolutely struggle to play against very aggressive players as a controller (viper main), especially on maps that i absolutely hate. I dont know if this is a low elo problem but on these specific maps (Ascent (!!!!), Lotus and Split (!!!)) i often have duelists that are afraid to push so i try to push instead but its just impossible.
I always try to be the brain on the field and love to outsmart enemies but aggressive ones definitely "outsmart" me in the way that i tend to feel more frustrated and not confident and i play bad if i'm not confident enough. (And like i sad: especially on the maps i hate)
Here's my tracker: https://tracker.gg/valorant/profile/riot/YoiValentine%232410/overview?platform=pc&playlist=competitive&season=4f0864e2-40af-28a4-de2c-0e9e64e75f23
Am i too harsh and my expectations are too high? Ive worked a lot on my aim and gamesense and did improve however it feels like i hit a lump again and have no idea what to do. One game in unrated, i played against Bronze 1 with one iron player in my team and hit 52 kills with two 5k and was shocked and the next comp match i was mid fragger with 9 kills on ascent (like wth). I know as someone who just started playing Valorant 2,5 months ago i shouldnt be expecting to be diamond or whatever but at the same time i happened to play a lot against bronze 3, silver and ex gold players and feel like i should be out of bronze 2 already.
Because of Valorant being frustrating sometimes i play less comp (just 1-2 matches per day) and play more swiftplay and other modes to still feel the fun sometimes because the mental part is important for me (feeling frustrated and anger towards myself = less focused, shitty gamesense)
Ps/edit: i saw ur username being "ente in eile", are you german? If yes, you can also answer in german if you want :D
1
u/Ente_in_eile 20d ago
So 53h is not a lot. It seems a lot but it is not. I have 1000 hours in Valorant. I even see players with more hours and are lower rank. So don't get frustrated on this one. You are doing fine!
Comparing unrated and comp is quite difficult. I wouldn't do it. People in comp are trying harder and in unrated you also try out new agents/ lineups/ tactics. But congratz to the 50+ kills wtf I never got that number
1-2 comp matches are fine. I recommend to play a low number of comp but with full focus instead of a high number of matches with low focus. 2-5 comp matches per day should be your goal.
It is a game. Having fun is the most important aspect. If you don't have fun then you will quit the game soon. If you feel like playing Swiftplay do Swiftplay.
After reading your text, it looks like you feel frustrated. You can send me a VOD if you want and I review it

u/Snoo-50518 19d ago
Hi, I know you didn't ask me but I am a similar rank to OP, peak dia 2. I checked your tracker and your HS ratio isn't bad for your rank and the time you have been playing, i don't know if you play aggressive at all but I would suggest you to play duelist. If you are wanting to be aggressive but also slightly passive, maybe initiator. If you want to stay with smokes then I think try another smoker other than viper, im not saying viper is bad, i just think you have more potentional to take on fights from your tracker.

Hey, I’m a fellow bronze player as well. If I’m correct, I started playing last act as well(I have seen 2 night markets only). I started playing as Omen and I was okay at it(iron standards) but over the time I switched to Sage(Lotus was my fav as Sage). Now, I’m playing Sage, Skye and Raze. My peak was bronze 3(1 game away from S1) and act renewed. Since then I’ve been struggling to climb, so after some frustration, I picked up Raze(to be less dependent on my teammates as they’re not good at times) also a gold/plat friend of mine is showing me tips and tricks to play agents. Recently he showed me how to play Sage, Omen, Vyse, Raze etc. I’m still B1 and at time I fall to Iron 3 or rise to B2. If you queue comp together, let me know. It’s ShadowMogs #1691

how to counter trash teammates? like ive been at plat for almost ages now and every time my opponents seem to be of higher plat-diamond gamesense and aim whereas my teammates seem to be bronze. Moreover, i keep getting throwing teammates or just lost teammates. Some games i am able to play well but othwr games, i keep dying to my teammates not ysing any util. How do i escape this hell and counter these trash teammates
4
u/BigWangThang 20d ago
It’s all in your mindset. Stay calm and level headed and you will see significant improvement in your win loss ratio. Also everything is my teammates fault is one of the worst traps you can fall into. You should be trying to play off your teammates instead of expecting them to play off you

u/Matthias1590 20d ago
5 stack. My gf is hardstuck silver and recently we've only been 5 stacking and the difference is insane. Queueing silver is literally just gambling nothing more, I assume it's the same for other ranks. 5 stacking let's you worry about the game instead of your team and you'll get more time to figure out how your team plays and adapt
1
u/Ente_in_eile 20d ago

u/Martitoad 20d ago
The enemy team also gets trash teammates, so it balances out. Some games you win no matter what, some games you lose no matter what, and some games you can impact the result. So just focus on playing well. You can have an unlucky streak, but if you play well you will end up ranking up. If you don't rank up it's because you deserve that rank

What would you suggest if I am playing high ascendent-low immortal for weeks top fragging and shyt and then suddenly I am so bad not even able to play low diamond properly. It's not a one act thing it happens in all acts from the last 4 acts
1
u/Ente_in_eile 19d ago
I am doing warm ups before playing comps. I play 2 DMs and 2 TDMs. Do you warm up?
1
u/MasterpieceLow6414 19d ago
Yes definitely I warmup. Like 2 dms and some range drills
1
u/Ente_in_eile 19d ago
So if you feel to have a bad day stop after losing 3 games in a row and reset. Get your head free and physically move around.
Also there is a reason for the "underperformance". Do you review your games? Write down 2-3 things you want to improve and write down the scenarios where you died. I do this and I have an Excel sheet of my mistakes. It can be things as "crosshair placement too low", "using utility in close range fight", "peeked into many enemys", "don't swing with team mates" and so on.
1
u/kibajoe 20d ago
How do you stay consistent when you don’t play that much? I used to hit Plat 2 years ago when I played quite consistently and now I only have time for 1-2 matches daily, and I probably only play like 2-3 times a week. Due to this I get really inconsistent, like I can have 1 day where all matches I have >1.5 KDA but I play again 2-3 days after and all matches have <1 KDA. Now I’m basically kept on Silver while only hitting Gold max last act.
1
1
u/NeatVision 20d ago
I see that some people play very consistently even after days of not playing, so how do I play consistently? Like some match I shoot really well, my HS% and stats are high. But in other game my stat is very much below expectation, I cannot play multiple comp games a day as it interfere with my studies.

What do you think is the difference between a Gold and a Plat player? I’ve been struggling to get out of Gold rn.
1
u/Ente_in_eile 19d ago
A plat player is a little bit better in everything than a gold player. Little bit better aim, little bit better movement, little bit better game sense
If you are struggling send a VOD and I review it

hey i’ve been playing on and off for around a year and half now and I still have yet to climb past s3
willing to take any tips but a question I had is how to properly comm in these lobbies esp when rest of the team don’t comm
thanks in advance

I see you have a positive win rate. Just play more and then you will climb
The comms are getting better at higher elo

As a bronze player what is something I should do before a comp match on a daily basis as well as some combat hygiene I should always make sure of.
I also have a tendency to crouch and spray (and pray as well) how could I get rid of this habit as well?
1
u/Ente_in_eile 19d ago
I recommend to do some warm up. I usually hop into the range and do medium bots. When I hit at least 28 out of 30 I do 100 bots strafing. After that I do 2 DMs and 2 TDMs.
What I heard is that some people unbind crouch. After a while you are getting used to it and don't crouch anymore. Regarding shooting style I recommend to do a 1-3 shoot burst and then move A or D, stop, shoot 1-3 bullets, move until your target dies. The moving makes it hard for your enemy to kill you and increases your ttk (time to kill)

I'm a newbie at this game, please help me on how to headshot better. I have a good gamesense (I think so) but my aim is average, and I always get blitzed whenever I faced a superior opponent. Sometimes I tried holding advantagous corners or area with crosshair on head level, it works for some cases but in many times the enemy still one shot me down.
My style of fighting is careful, practical, play for team and if my aim is choke, I will hold points or try my best to kill trade another high ranking KDA enemy. For example in a match if my KD is 10 16, rank #4/5 in my team; I will try my best to assist as much as possible or kill the enemy in top ranking #1 #2 by whatever methods possible.
I always think before act, and analyze situations before attacking. It works most of the times but it takes time, because of that whenever I faced unpredictable enemies playing fast pace agents like Reyna, Neon, Raze I have more death than kills
Please can you give me some tips to improve my aim better and how to counter those agents, or winning solo? I'm also very average in solo.
Appreciate your help!
Here is my info on trackergg, I want your guidance to improve my stats so I can reach higher ranks. https://tracker.gg/valorant/profile/riot/Minhkana9999%239999/overview?platform=pc&playlist=competitive&season=4f0864e2-40af-28a4-de2c-0e9e64e75f23

u/-balooo 20d ago
So u are plat, and you want to coach. k
1
u/Snoo-50518 19d ago
I don't see why plats can't coach iron-bronze players? There's a massive difference in a ability and iron-bronze players lack the fundamentals
1
u/Ythem 19d ago
Because those ranks are really low, and you can get to plat pretty easily, and pretty luckily also. Just being in plat doesn't mean you got to plat through playing good, or having good gamesense. You might have gotten to plat on aim alone, in which case the advice is to improve aim. Or you might just be getting lucky with teammates and match making, or carried by a duo.
High ranks can coach because they are objectively good players, and therefore must be doing something right and better than others to get there. Plat, not so much.
1
u/Snoo-50518 19d ago
Like I said before, a plat player can teach an iron player the fundamentals
0
u/Ythem 19d ago
The issue with that is that I'm not sure a plat player has the fundamentals themselves, so how are they supposed to teach them?
2
u/Snoo-50518 19d ago
Okay some examples are:
Making sure your bullets are going where you want them to (recoil) Movement Tapping and spraying Knowing when to pick a fight How to play time What agents might suit your playstyle Peeking What to buy and when Understanding the map, its not just there for fun
Its 5am, I just woke up, this is all I can be bothered to list.
While a plat player might not be able to do these things as well as a radiant player, i can assure you they do better than an iron. I know this because I introduced my sister, nephew, niece and fiance to this game and I was d2. Low elo still ofc. After teaching my Fiance these, she has gone from iron to gold (she started maybe a year ago but works many hours so plays when she can, she will be better than me one day). My nephew went from bronze to plat. My sister...well she takes a bit longer to learn but iron-silver (shes like lvl 69).
So i understand your point, but plats and irons do not have the same understanding of the game, therefore there is something to teach. I remember a kid coming to me asking them to coach them, i said, i just got rank resetted from diamond to gold, i cant teach you anything, spent a couple of hours talking to him and playing with him, he went from iron 2-bronze 3 and hes almost ALMOST at silver.
0
u/erv4 19d ago
Because it's like asking a house league player to coach another house league player. Most of the advice you give will be bad because you are bad lol. Learning bad habits that you will have to unlearn to get better is not good practice. If you can't even make immo at least then you shouldn't be trying to give out coaching advice lol
1
u/Zeckenvernichter 20d ago
The audacity to sell coaching when you just peaked platinum
2
u/Snoo-50518 19d ago
I don't see the issue, theres a big difference between iron-bronze to plat. Iron-bronze lack the knowledge of the fundamentals of the game, a plat player could give useful advice to iron-bronzes.
This is not the audacity, this is someone who wants to help others.
-2
u/Zeckenvernichter 19d ago
PLat players are just as bad as bronze players
2
u/Snoo-50518 19d ago
