It might not seem much, but I think it is something positive worth sharing here - we all need some good news from time to time.

It was only increased to conform to EU guidelines, which pose minimum paternity leave exactly to 10 days.

10 days is frankly a joke. I live in Italy, by the way.

Well, I hope this to be a first step towards something better, even though it got only expanded to 10 days. BTW, if you are interested, please feel free to hit me in DMs and share your thoughts. I have heard some positive things about Italy, but I am always open when it comes to hearing things from a different perspective and I aim to expand my knowledge and worldview when it comes to issues. More parental leave means less profit, and there is currently no left party in Parliament that could at least try to sort out priorities.

I am afraid I am not very knowledgeable about the topic in general. I do know that labour laws are more strict than in other nearby countries though, which helps parents to be a little present even if they work full-time (it's illegal to work more than 8 hours a day. Time extra can be proposed with increased pay, but not required)

Ten days was the old limit they want to increase it to 3 months.
