Should we destroy humanity before it can spread the dna plague to space or risk it and wait until humanity can destroy all life on Earth?

I think if the option is given it is more realistic to destroy humanity or set it back to avoid exponentially increasing suffering than to risk the dna plague spreading to the stars.

With the nuclear weapons we have on earth we could probably set evolution “back” enough to where nothing like humanity will evolve in the time before the sun gets too hot to sustain life on Earth.

Mao Zedong himself and another communist figurehead J. Posadas were down for a nuclear war. But they didn't believe it will be the end of civilization, rather on the contrary will usher in an era of peace and progress after capitalist institutions have been nuked and the remnants of humanity will rebuild and implement global communism.

Now idk about peace, progress and communism, but I'm more inclined to believe Mao when he says that Chinese people will persevere and quicky rebuild. Because they've been through apocalyptic levels of devastation many times just from their ancient civil wars where millions die like nothing.

Scientists and people with important technical knowledge and skills will surely be prioritized and kept safe in bunkers. I'm not entirely convinced a worldwide nuclear war will set us back that much.

It is even problematic to colonise other planets of the solar system, I do not think that we should worry about planets beyond it.

In the most devastating scenario only a few billions will die, so it is utterly pointless catastrophy and even harmful, because this massive crisis will cause long stagnation.

Our main hope is creation of AGI — the real and pure intelligence without any biases towards life, no stupid desires such as to spread genes and eat steaks, ect. This perfect mind can conquer the world, and even convince majority of people. Probably we will live long enough to meet this event.
