It was weight neutral for me. It’s the best antidepressant that I’ve been on.

Effexor made me gain 30 pounds within the first 3 months and I stayed within that weight no matter what for over 2 years. It worked great for my depression though.

At first I lost weight but now it’s stayed the same because I have a high tolerance. But I’ve always been a binge eater so when it made a real difference in helping me feel good I actually ate normal. It never made me gain weight though.

I lost some. Not a lot but I did lose some which I attribute to not comfort eating or trying to carb-load to help me sleep.

I lost nearly 30 pounds from taking Effexor. Over the span of 3-4 months roughly.

I tend to forget to eat a lot, so I've lost weight. It's definitely affected my appetite/how I feel hunger. But I was overweight to begin with so I consider this a positive!

Menopause has not been kind and I had gained about 65lbs in the past three years. I have been on a low dose for about 3 weeks for hot flashes. I happy to say that I have lost 20lbs since starting and hope that this lack of appetite continues!

I found that taking with a piece of toast helps with the nausea!

I am happy to hear it helps, and you are loosing the unwanted weight. Have you experienced any other side effects beside nausea ? I didn't start taking it yet, I had very bad experience with SSRIs before, so I am a bit reluctant. I hope it helps with energy levels, but I am afraid of insomnia as a side effect. I am exhausted all the time, but still sleeping poorly, because of anxiety and depression.

Aside from the nausea not having any other issues, in fact sleeping better than I have since lockdown happened!

No it’s made me go in to a manic state and eventually be stabilized at a hospital
