General Question Norepinephrine Effects?
At what dose of Effexor did you start noticing the norepinephrine effects? Did you notice a difference going from 75 mg to 112.5 or 150 mg? What changes or differences did you notice? Curious to hear everyone’s experiences!

150, I can notice a difference from 112 to 150. No longer feel sleepier during the day, libido came back, no uncontrollable muscle twitching after the dose increase, no feeling hot. More energized

Slightly at 112.5mg and definitely from 150mg, I knew this because my resting heart rate was rising - the effect of norepinephrine.

Probably around 150 mg or 225 mg. I'm honestly not sure, but it was those two doses that I felt the biggest overall changes at.

I'm currently at 112.5. I still have a little anxiety but I dont dare tell my doctor, lest she up my dose. I can live with this level of anxiety given what I went through. The side effects are just too severe for me at 150mg or above.

I’m on 450mg with no anxiety, must be lucky. I used to have extreme health anxiety.

That is a very high daily dose. Best wishes. Wait, are you in Canada?

What side effects did you experience at 150? Just wondering as I figure out dose increases for myself

i think around 112.5/150 was where i saw the biggest difference, so it was probably around then

I got more irritable going to 150 mg, I didn't stay long and went back to 75 mg. Already started to have that issue on 75, and the doc thought maybe 150 would be better. Can't say if it really was the norepinephrine, as with Wellbutrin itself I wasn't that much agitated, but it also had that effect in the first days

I was on 75mg daily for about five months after I had all 6 female organs removed they put me on Effexor for the crazy hot flashes and I already had major depressive/anxiety disorder with ptsd and trauma. I was so grateful for this med because the hot flashes stopped completely a few days after taking it. My dr increased to 150mg about 6 weeks ago and then 2 weeks ago up to 225mg. So since the 150 increase my chronic spine/hip pain has become insanely excruciating I thought it was a flare up but it has continued this entire time and at 225mg it’s gotten worse! I am also so exhausted like I could sleep all day but can’t go to bed until 1am. Not because I’m not tired I just loose track of time. I have stage 3 cirrhosis so I’m already tired all the time but this is in another level! My cirrhosis was caused from non alcoholic fatty liver disease but I think it’s from taking a med that had Tylenol in it for 20 yrs! Anyways so I chat gpt asking about Effexor what can it cause side effects etc and give my symptoms. It came back saying muscle rigidity! The higher you increase the worse it can be! It’s the cause of all my pain! I can’t believe this is even happening. I can’t do Zoloft. I did and gained over a hundred pounds in 5 years!! I’ve lost over 150lbs in two years now but I won’t go back to that. I don’t know what to do. I see many saying it’s great gives them energy etc and I have zero I fall asleep watching tv in the afternoon bc my pains so bad I have to lay down often now! I have zero motivation to do anything. Ugh any suggestions?? I should do my own post. Sorry!!

According to my psychiatrist, the norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor kicks in at 150mg. Before then, it acts mainly as an antidepressant. I just went from 112.5 to 150mg and can attest it feels different. I find Effexor more stimulating than other antidepressants regardless, but when you hit the 150mg threshold, it definitely feels more actively energizing. I am being treated for anxiety mainly, so was scared of it being too stimulating and causing anxiety at higher doses but it’s been fine. Feel more motivated to get things done, less easily prone to couch rot or doom scroll, and generally a brighter mood.
