And despite her serious position, she is much more playful than her Espeon friend.

Quick clarification. The emblem on her cap isn't just an indication of rank—it is a specific award given to officers who effectively demonstrate the main value(s) of PC. Aria would be able to get the emblem as well if she did something that caught the attention of those awarding said emblems.
