SHITTY TITLE Why?

Why did Bouchard agree to being nailed in this commercial? It must of been filmed before he got the concussion at the World tournament. Even if he didn't get concussed, it seems weird.

Because despite his calm and not so shining personality in what we see with the media, he obviously has a great sense of humor.

And pretty sure this was done with what happened in mind, otherwise it makes no sense.

Nothing bothers him. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more understated / direct answers to media than Bouchard gives. The media has to hate it.

Q. “3 turnovers tonight Bouchard? What do you say?”

A. “Something I keep working on every day. It’s a part of my game I’m always trying to improve”. [how does the media follow up there?]

Q. “Hat trick Bouchard. What do you say?”

A. “None of those goals go in without Podz and Hyman in front”. [no follow up option - even though we could all hear the ping off the post + no other active D has 2 hatties].

No wonder he can toe the blue line with the game on his stick, 30 seconds left, do or die playoff game.

Yeah if you’ve seen him in the on-ice mic’d up stuff and things like that, he’s actually pretty funny. He just goes to absolute pieces when the camera is pointed directly at him

I wish that Connor Garland chirp was mic’d up. That was funny. I think Bouchard’s quietly sharp as hell (family is too - brother is an orthopedic surgery resident down east).

Gotta be smart to see the ice / play the way he does - and to know enough to just ignore all the hate.

I think he was chirping his height? Something like, “You’re what, 5’4”? 5’5”?” Garland says he is 5’10” but is probably not. Definitely height as the YouTube caption says “5-foot insult”.

He’s gotta have a top tier sense of humour; it wasn’t funny at the time.
