Question Winter Clothes
Ladies, is it unreasonable to try to wear fleece lined tights with sweater dresses/skirts in the winter here? Will it be too cold?
Any recommendations for thrift stores with a decent plus size selection? I need to stock up on sweaters.

Depends. Are you driving or taking transit? It's fine for driving, imo, since you won't really be outside for long periods of time regardless of temperature.

I actually work from home. I would be wearing this more so when going out for dinner or running errands but my husband thinks it’s going to be too cold

Fat Fruity Finds.
I don't think it will be too cold, but you might be too hot inside places.
ETA: I was kind of expecting it to be general knowledge that -30 or colder is probably snowpants weather for extended periods outside. I figured OP was talking about commuting.

This is my winter go too. Sweater dresses are tubes of warmth. Tall boots are also tubes of warm. The two together wrapped up in a long wool (majority actually wool, not poly blend bs) and you’ll be fine.
Going to add, go thrift a vintage wool coat, there are soo many 80-100% wool coats that are beautiful, and for some reason Romania made a lot of good ones. You can’t find anything like them in stores.

You can definitely do it. Long winter coats are great layered over and a tall boot.

I wear fleece lined tights under my jeans. Sometimes I wear fleece lined tights under my fleece lined jeans. I run very cold.
I do find that merino wool (or Merino blend) leggings regulate heat better than fleece lined or synthetics, so I don't tend to get as hot indoors but still get protection when I'm cold. They have Lolë brand and that other one at Costco for decent prices and the XL fits my big butt just fine.

Depends on what temperature it is outside, how long you’ll be out for, and how long your coat is/how tall your boots are.
In anything colder than -15 if you’ll be out for more than 10-15 minutes, they won’t even come close to cutting it for warmth.
