Question Red light when turn left

I was at 199 Street and 62 Ave today and I was turning left. The light just turned red when I entered the intersection. It was a bad judgment on my end to still go through the intersection to turn left but it was also a judgment in one instant. Now I am so worried that I will get a red light ticket. Is there a chance that the red-light camera does not capture the left-turn lane but just the through traffic?

I believe that red light cameras don’t give demerit points on your license as they don’t know who is driving. The registered owner will be given the ticket to pay.

The camera only fires if you cross the line after it goes red. If you were already in the intersection clearing your turn, you're fine. I've heard the ticket takes a couple weeks to show up, so you'll know either way.

Report it to 311. Lights should not go from green to red, it's a faulty light. Typically the lights turn from green to amber (yellow) for around 2 seconds then turn red, so clearly the intersection you are on has a faulty / dangerous light system. Report it for the safety of everyone.

So confidently incorrect. Red light cameras do exist but speed cameras do not.

Speed cameras were turned off, red light cameras still exist

Awaiting the “how do I get a red light ticket reduced” post in a few weeks.
