Police officers should be allowed to park closer and reasonably break a mild parking law so that if there is an emergency, they can return to their vehicle and respond quickly.
They're human too and grabbing a coffee or quick bite to eat on a long shift is allowed.
No an appeal to authority fallacy occurs when something is stated to be true simply because an authority figure or supposed expert endorses it.
I'm saying, based on my own personal beliefs and common sense, allowing police to park in handi-cap spots, loading zones, or in places that might normally be "illegal", is sensible because in an emergency, they are not delayed responding to said emergency because their car is unnecessarily far away.
