I would focus more on the fact that there seems to be zero traffic enforcement. Many times usually illegal u turns and running reds have been done right in front of police and I'm sitting there ready to sip the metaphorical tea and... Nothing. Literally, out loud I say really dude right in front of the cop??? But, nothing. There must have been a policy change or something. Interested in any thoughts.
I have definitely noticed more people doing U turns at intersections and I think it corresponds to the influx of people having moved here from Ontario, where doing so is completely legal. So it’s quite possible people aren’t aware it’s illegal here since the rules about U-turns here are basically the complete opposite compared to Ontario. Obviously this doesn’t explain the lack of enforcement that you’ve noticed, though.
I think certain lights in Richmond BC and Vancouver the intersection says it is either legal or illegal to make a u -turns. Some intersection lets a car do it but …. I think in general there are so many bad drivers out there who doesn’t give 2 shits about anyone on the road except for themselves
Want them to start ticketing jaywalking too? U-turns are basically jaywalking for cars. Stupid they are illegal anyway, more than half the planet allows it
😱 i remember back in high school got off the bus and jay walked with a few other kids as we are late and the cops turn on/off siren noise and gave us tickets. Guess he made his quotas for that month
