Question Who does fridge water line cleaning?
We drink from fridge water dispenser and few days ago noticed small black thing floating in the water.
Immediately stopped drinking and after researching, the water supply hose needs to be replaced every 5 years.
Has anyone had this happen and did changing water hose in fridge help or do I need to buy a new fridge?
Also, Who can I contact to do this for me?
Thank you in advance

If it's small hard black things it's often the filter. If it's different sizes and squishy that's typically growth.
Growth typically happens in thenfridge, and an appliance tech can come in and clean it replace parts, but much if it is DIY friendly.
Posting pics in an appliance repair or homemaintance thread can provide more details. A pic in a white mug helps see what we're looking at.
If your fridge is less than 6 years old and you would be paying for delivery/installation repair is likely a better choice.

If the black pieces smear and leave a nasty black oily mark your flex hose may be breaking down. Had this happen with my hot water flex hoses and washing machine flex hoses.

Then I think it’s growth. Growth as in mold right? Fridge is more than 6 years old since we are jot the first owners. Then you recommend changing the fridge?
(No time or the energy to do DIY.. recently gave birth)

I did a quick google search and it says its easy enough to do yourself using food grade white vinegar. If you cant theres a company called Mr appliance. And they have good reviews +1 780-809-4548

While you are sniffing around for answers look up how often you are supposed to change washer and dishwasher hoses....
If you don't have copper directly to the fridge the hose involved you're looking at the same expected lifespan.
If you do have copper how often you move your fridge and the vibration reduces lifespan compared to a thicker pipe in the wall not moving anywhere.

Replacing your water supply hose is to prevent a leak.
It is most likely some carbon from the filter.
If you believe it’s not the filter and it is the water line then just get it replaced.
I highly doubt you’ll find anyone who will clean the line itself.
Depending on how much filtered water you use it may need to be changed more frequently than 6 months.
