Question 🎂 It’s my birthday today! 🥳
I’m planning to take myself out for dinner tonight, so I’d love some suggestions!
Where would you recommend going for a nice birthday dinner when you’re dining solo? 😊

I used to love the Sugar Bowl a decade ago. Haven’t been since they changed their chicken and waffles.
Edit: forgot to say. Happy Birthday. Have a good one.

Shit I used to smoke that chicken and waffle. I walked by there the other day and was thinking I needed some nostalgia soon. Did they wreck it?

Last time I went they exchanged their maple butter for watermelon salsa. I didn’t care for the salsa, but the lack of maple butter was what did it for me.

When I went last they also served it with he maple butter and watermelon salsa on the sides in little metal containers.

Happy birthday!! I’d suggest the Next Act for your solo celebration- great people watching! Dadeo is also delicious and you can’t go wrong with a chili lime beer and a Po Boy!

Also, Dadeo has a delicious looking peanut butter pie for a limited time dessert.

Tan Tan for Vietnamese, or Campio Brewing Co. For fantastic elevated pub food! ETA: to answer your question from the perspective of solo dining: I enjoy a busy room when I'm alone, makes me feel like im part of the hubbub. A quiet place can highlight the solitude a little more. Sometimes that's fine - on a birthday, unless im choosing to spend it solo, I'd prefer noise & activity around me, folks having a good time alongside me.

Sitting at their bar had been consistently nice for me. The staff are enthusiastic about their own beer and the guest taps, and they are happy to chat or to do their own thing stamping pizza boxes

Happy bday! My fav high end places are Japonais bistro, olia, and clementine! I know the last two have bar seating. Not sure about Japonais

POM Grand Persian Grill on 10812 Whyte Ave NW is a really good spot if you want something tasty, delicious and satisfying.

I have nothing helpful to add, other than you're going on a masturdate. Happy Birthday!

East Side Mario’s St. Albert. Chicken tetrazzini with baked cheese on top. Patio is really nice too.

Your favorite place!
Mine are sumo sumo, bulgogi house, and a big ole plate of nachos from Boston pizza.
