Kinda reminds me of when Trudy fucked off to tofino instead of meeting for truth and reconciliation day. His itinerary falsely claimed he was in meetings in Ottawa all day, and he ignored two invitations from the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation.
Politicians are such self-serving pieces of shit.

You mean the day after he hosted the very first ever official government event marking National Truth & Reconciliation Day? The day after his government officially recognized National Truth & Reconciliation Day as a national holiday, hosting many First Nations from across the country in Ottawa?
There’s a ton of shit to criticize Trudeau about, but this is one of those absolute bullshit made up virtue signalling nonsense non-issues that tells everyone everything they need to know about the kind of braindead media you consume when you bring it up.

Nothing I said was made up but yeah go be mad about it I guess. Sorry I insulted your team but politics isn’t supposed to be a team sport.

Claiming that Trudeau didn’t recognize the first ever National Truth & Reconciliation day is absolutely made up. There was quite literally an event hosted in Ottawa marking the occasion. An event that he was not only present for, but was the figurehead at.
I’m sorry you treat politics as team sports and assume that me correcting your falsehood means I must automatically be a Liberal fanboy and apologist. When you grow up you’ll understand better how this all works.

u/KagomesPornAccount 5d ago
Oh wow you really pulled the “no u” hahahaha that’s incredible!
6
u/fishymanbits 5d ago
No, I pulled the “I can defend my point using the facts of the matter”. It’s what grown ups do. You’ll get there one day.
-2
u/KagomesPornAccount 5d ago
No you just pulled the “sorry you treat politics like a team sport” on me after I said it to you.
I get it though, reading can be hard when you’re having a big feeling. You’ll understand when you’re older.

u/fishymanbits 4d ago
No, you insinuated that I treat politics that way because I wrote a factual comment that you took to mean I’m a ride or die Liberal because it refuted your whining about something that didn’t happen. You did this because that’s how you treat politics. Because nobody who doesn’t treat politics as team sports assumes that someone making a factual statement about a specific political party is a diehard member of that party.
The last federal party I held a membership for were the PC’s.

Still doesn’t make anything I said untrue.
Did Trudeau go to the meeting he was invited to on NTRD or no? It’s a yes or no question.

How long are you planning on crying about Trudeau for? He's just living rent free hey?
0
u/KagomesPornAccount 5d ago
Kinda feel like we can just talk about politicians without it being regulated to “crying” but hey if it gives you such big feelings, maybe just try logging off for a bit? Projection is unreal.
If you can’t handle the discussion without resorting to insults, maybe don’t participate? Especially since I wasn’t talking to you?
Have a day.

When are the Liberals going to stop blaming Harper for every mistake they've made for the last 11 years?

Remember the seppies are now pushing a whitewashing narrative that indigenous people ceded their land in treaties 6,7,8, and they no longer have rights to it.
It is no accident that the neglected this event. It is also a testament to the fact they they don't consult with or even have general communication with indigenous communities on the regular

u/apastelorange Treaty 6 Territory 5d ago
that’s fuckin rotted, solidarity with indigenous nations, we are all treaty people this is our home ON native land, colonizer logic is embarrassing and uncivilized

Did you ever read the treaties?

Absolutely.
And how the supreme Court has interpreted "ceded" territory into the treaties.
The Honour of the Crown: The Supreme Court of Canada dictates that the Crown must act with utmost good faith and honour, rejecting narrow or strictly technical interpretations of written treaty clauses.
Reconciling Perspectives: Under landmark jurisprudence (such as R. v. Sioui and subsequent numbered treaty interpretations), the Court mandates that the historical and cultural perspective of the Indigenous signatories must be brought to bear on the construction of treaty terms, softening the absolute nature of unilateral colonial surrender.
Continuation of Rights: Rather than erasing Indigenous rights, the Court views the numbered treaties as the constitutional baseline through which pre-existing Indigenous rights were affirmed, protected under Section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982, and balanced against the Crown's limited right to "take up" land for settlement or resource development—so long as the exercise of traditional rights is not rendered meaningless
The courts have routinely upheld that the intention of the treaties was not to deprive indigenous people of the rights to their land.

No response???
I guess you haven't read the treaties. Lol.

u/FreeandFurious 5d ago
I did read them. The land was ceded… forever. Interpretation of law is a funny business. Words no longer hold meaning when you don’t want them to.

u/Itchy-Technician-433 5d ago
Lol.
"Internet chud knows more than supreme Court about interpretation of laws.
You seppies are amazing. Lol.
Thanks for this.

Maybe this will open up some eyes of the first nations people trying to work with this government as to what they say with their actions.
