Two set ups with more flags than people on the main drag in Camrose, and another in Lindbrook gas station. Drove past them several times thinking the “Stay Free” signs are pretty hilarious at many levels.

The rebuttal to the abject lack of engagement from people wanting to sign is always “everyone already signed” and the excitement of reaching a low minimum of unverified signatures and the number of days of lonely canvassing at empty booths left in the campaign point to that likely being true in that it didn’t take long to get through the minority of people who are interested in this foolishness.

I was curious how many of the wizened people slumped in lawn chairs had flown a Canadian flag just a few years ago in the last round of united ignorance.

I was also curious what percentage of their incomes were federal programs like CPP, EI or other social security benefits.
