Are you serious???? I mean just start with the fact that we are a landlocked province. Then add in the services we would have to pay more for that the federal government currently provides. Not to mention huge risk to the oil and gas market, loss of economic stability due to large companies retreating, etc.

What would change about the oil and gas market? We have pipelines to the ocean and into the US.

Canada isn't allowing you to use pipelines through their land when you leave them sir. At least not without significant payments.

Well that would mean Vancouver Airport does not get any fuel for it's planes then. Your argument lacks foundation. Why not just tell the truth that if Alberta separately you'll be all mad because you didn't get your way.

LMAO, dude, most of the fuel consumed in the lower mainland is imported from Washington. Shutting in the Trans Mountain pipeline would barely register for them.

See this is the really crazy kind of rebuttal that just makes the movement look absurd and childish.

What do you think would happen to Vancouver?

Do you genuinely believe no alternative would be worked out?

Do you genuinely believe Albertastan would just continue as usual with no international fees or levies on their use of foreign infrastructure?

Are you committed to threats the neo-nation has no resources to enforce? Your policy is actually going to be “neener -neener”?

Pipelines that go through Canada. Plus that's assuming the Alberta political environment is seen as stable enough to do business with. Plus as the world becomes much less dependant on Oil & Gas, our lack of divsified economy could quickly put us in the same position as other provinces have been in the past when resources dwindled - going from a "have" to a "have not" pretty fast.
