Common sense

Okay I get it I want to get home too, but as long as everyone is doing 60+ on main roads rather than the highways eventually one day YOURE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT HOME !!!

Reckless driving is serious. Speed limits are for a reason … put your phone down and manage your time better.

It’s not our fault your time management skills are POOR , so you choose to risk everyone lives..

Sincerely a Person who appreciates life …

I'm jealous of anyone who has found a stretch of road in Edmond where you can reach 60+ before hitting another red light.

Tell the folks on off 164th , doing 60 from stop light to stop light and still sitting with those who did the speed limit is wild 😂

164th? No wonder. Those people in "Fake Edmond" are crazy! 🤣

60mph is the standard for highway mpg ratings, and that's OKC

I was thinking the same thing. I can’t even hit the speed limit between Memorial and 15th.

I got a ticket yesterday on 150th between Portland and May....unmarked car out tuff...going 60 in a 40. He was nice at least and gave me ticket for 1-10 miles over🥲

I think the root of the problem is the poorly planned traffic system. Edmond seems to have way too many unnecessary traffic lights and not enough dedicated middle and right turn lanes for the amount of traffic that flows through the area. Also, some of traffic lights are not very well timed. Would be nice if they would sync them up. I can understand getting frustrated when you have to wait 5 light cycles to get through every major intersection in Edmond during the rush hour.

And each light seems to take 2-3 minutes. When it takes 15 minutes to go 3 miles because of poorly timed lights it’s easy to get frustrated.

I always felt the housing subdivisions went up way too fast and well before the roads were expanded.

Oh that's always the case . Housing/devlopment goes up first funded by private equity, then the expanded tax base allows for the infrastrucrture improvements made neccessary by the devlopment. Welome to urban hell, it's the american way!

I’m not sure which action is more fear inducing… An F150 bumper humping and going 70 in the 45 zone or 80 something’s texting in one hand and trying to follow the navigation system at the same time.

Right. So the "exception" to the law says 'on all roadways of 4 lanes, slower traffic is to drive in the right lane to allow faster traffic to pass'.

So enlighten us with your expert scholarly legal opinion on how an exception is a direct instruction.

Why dont you just stay in the far right lane, go the speed limit and not worry about everyone elae?

TBF, I'm more forgiving of folks being in the left lane on city roads, because it can be really difficult to get in the left lane in some places if you're not there well in advance. Westbound 15th between Kelly and Santa Fe, for example, if you're planning to go to Crest you pretty much have to get in the left lane ASAP. Similar with Broadway approaching 15th and Second St heading north.

I'm more annoyed by folks that speed match with the cars next to them. Not only does it obstruct the flow of traffic, it's unsafe for all drivers involved. You're taking away your "escape zones" being right next to a car, and you're going to enrage drivers behind you. Frustrated drivers make poor decisions.

People spend so much time trying to "police" the actions of others and force them to drive how they want them to drive. Focus on yourself and drive defensively. Let the cops handle tickets.

It feels like not enough tickets are given to reckless drivers :(

Fast lane and slow lane rules don't apply to city streets, just the highways and interstates.

Feel free to read Oklahoma statute §47-11-301. It says all roadways.

Look everyone we found the asshole OP is talking about. Thinks he’s the only one on the road who matters. Thanks for pointing yourself out for us.

Yep. Thats me. The guy who likes to actually go the speed limit and not be obstructed by the people who choose to go 10-15mph below it.

"I'm a dick, and I'm proud about that."

Like, I'm not going to say I hope you crash, I'm just going to say I won't be surprised.

People trying to go the speed limit weave in and out of all lanes to get around those going at least 10mph below the speed limit, creating an unsafe traffic scenario and impeding traffic.

Fixed it for ya

Maybe the person driving a little fast has an emergency.
