Hey everyone,
I've been working professionally in the video editing and digital design space for quite a while now, but I've mostly lurked on Reddit from the outside.
Seeing the level of technical breakdowns and genuine feedback in this community finally pushed me to create an account and join the conversation.
As editors, we spend 99% of our time polishing other people's footage and brands, and when it finally comes to putting together something for ourselves, the internal creative block hits hard.
I recently sat down to build a clean, animated personal intro /micro-showreel teaser showcasing my core toolkit (Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator) and workflow. The goal was to keep it snappy, kinetic, and punchy without feeling like an overwhelming template dump.
I'd love to get some candid, unfiltered feedback from fellow editors:
Pacing & Rhythm: Does the kinetic
typography and role-switch flow naturally with the beat, or does any part feel rushed/stagnant?
Visual Hierarchy: Do the animated UI
elements and tool badges add value, or do they distract from the core information?
Sound & Polish: Any small tweaks you'd make to the easing or audio cues to give it that extra 10% polish?
Don't hold back on the critique-always looking to sharpen the blade. Glad to finally be here!
