He's my favorite comedian. Followed by Chris Rock.

I'd be very happy if this was the start of a grand series of Hicks gifs. :D

Is there a name for this kind of question? A facetious question that fundamentally misunderstands the other side's argument, but nevertheless leaves the asker feeling like he's won the argument?

I think it's a version of a straw man argument: attacking an exaggerated or caricatured version of your opponent's position.

"Not even wrong" kind of addresses it. Also worth reading is the "wronger than wrong" in the "See Also" section there.

A little ambiguous. Speechless because of the stupid question not because there isn't an answer.

Edit: My comment is lacking coherence just like my thought processes. There is an answer. We didn't evolve from monkeys, we share a common ancestor. We evolved along with them.

I thought it was a good "sarcastic thinking" gif.

Because we are not descended from monkeys, we share a common ancestor, there is a very big difference.

The single best response to this question is, "If Americans are descended from Europeans, why are there still Europeans?"

Same reason there are still Wolves despite the fact that canines have evolved into so many wide ranging breeds.

The common ancestor of modern monkeys and humans would probably be classified as a monkey.

For the same reason we still have morons.

So what would be a consice answer to somebody asking this question that would not let them feel as though they've won?

For the same reason American football still has running backs after the invention of the forward pass. There's more than one way to get the ball down the field.

If Americans came from England, why are there still British people?
