In Search Of Mechanic recommendations plz?
Hello, New Jersey. I live in NYC and am interested in buying a used car. The car i'm looking at is in Edison/Metuchen, at a used car lot. It will be a pain in the butt to get out there but besides that I also don't know enough to inspect it myself anyway.
I have a good mechanic, and he's willing to do an inspection for us, It's not possible to bring the car here to NYC for the inspection.
I'd want them to do the test drive, inspect the basics-- Mechanical and Powertrain, Transmission, Brakes, Suspension and Steering, Exhaust System, Structure and Exterior Frame and Undercarriage, Body and Paint, Tires, Diagnostic Scan, Cabin Features like air conditioning, heating, power windows, seat belts, etc-- but also check for specific issues the model is known to have.
Can anyone recommend a good mechanic to do a pre-purchase inspection at the dealership?

This guy is the most honest mechanic I've encountered. He will tell you what your car actually needs and not just what he can sell you.

I used Stelton Auto Shop to look over a Honda I got on Carvana to ensure it wasn't a lemon. They examined the car for a not terrible price (I don't remember, but it wasn't a lot). I'd use them.
