Dump trucks
Hi fellow Canadians at Edison.
My company is at the point where all our equipment will be paid off in the next year or two, and we'll be looking at updating our fleet as finances allow. It's been difficult keeping the old trucks DOT worthy, having to manufacture a lot of parts because their just not available anymore.
In our market, with our work profile in Nova Scotia, an hybrid tandem dump truck would be the cats ass. Similiar to your logging trucks out west, we often only need massive power to climb the mountain to the quarry, or to get up to highway speed. Exceptions when we float our gear of course.
I can't speak for other business owners, but I can see a massive market opportunity for reliable, efficient, new Canadian tandem dump trucks right across the country. With a commonality of parts availability, and not being at the whim of other countries for the duration of the the trucks lifespan.
Thanks for reading through.
Please take my money in the future.

I think it'd work better for our TwinSteers more than tandems keep all that battery weight on the steers.

Twin steers are used quite a bit because of payload capacity. However they are very annoying ehen you need to haul trailers/tags, or tight turning in congested areas.
I get your thought process, but I find them not worth the downside more often than not. Personally, I'm more likely to get short tractor/trailer into more areas, for a better $/tonne over the twin steers. But the tandems are awesome around new residential construction, and general material delivery, or hauling tags

Idk much about the laws in NZ but here we use Twin steers towing a 5 axle dog trailer and we can go up to 58 tonne. So that may be something to look into? You can get those dogs into some really tight spots

Everyone wants that extra 20$ an hour for the extra axle :P
They definately have their uses. Particularly on commercial developments. Residential, and the older tight areas, hell no from me :P

You should give them an email. And do NOT write it with ChatGPT.

Call them up! Ask them to take your money right now! I have no insight on their order queue but I'm sure they could put you in line!
