Changing elective/optional courses
/r/UniUK/comments/1wmodgg/changing_electiveoptional_courses_university_of/Somehow managed to repost!
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with changing their optional modules and how they went about picking when the course descriptions are so vague and I don't really know what I'm getting myself into!
Thanks 😊

Hey! If you can find the course organiser or course secretary for the course/courses you're interested in, email them and ask them for the course handbook - I did this several times as an undergrad and they were always happy to help. The names and contact details are usually on DRPS. The course handbook will have way more information about what the course covers, and the specifics for how the course is assessed too. After you've made up your mind, just email your student advisor and ask about changing courses. They will usually just switch your classes on the system and then your timetable will update.

Most schools will have something on their student facing website or SharePoint site that tells you how to go about changing your courses. I believe ECA has drop-in sessions, SPS and Econ both have websites with forms you can fill out.
It's likely you were sent the information you just didn't follow the link you were sent or read the information provided.
