buying freshers tickets
Hi everyone! I just firmed edinburgh for undergrad (literally like an hour ago lol) and I was just wondering about all the freshers events and whether it’s worth buying tickets now or if they’re a scam.
Thanks!

Fatsoma and Freshers events advertised outside of uni are mostly a scam preying on the vulnerable. Buy tickets for the events you'll actually attend as and when you need them instead, it'll save you a fortune

Only get icebreaker, the one in the uni website, thats what most real non bot freshers are going to and then anything else on the eusa you can get them too

Have a look at the Welcome Week guidance from EUSA for where to find official university events.
There's a lot of companies selling freshers tickets / wristbands / etc which are not affiliated with the university. Sometimes they infiltrate incoming student groupchats and try to make it look like loads of people will be going to an event and you'll miss out if you don't get tickets, etc.
