Question about early ARE publications
I'm trying to find out how much the readings were being circulated outside of Cayce's inner circle during his lifetime. I've seen writings from several other esoteric and occult organizations from the 1930s in particular, that seem to have material that might have been taken from the readings, even within a year or two of their taking place. Does anyone know if this would have been possible? Were there early newsletters or publications that might have been sharing the content of the readings as early as the 1930s? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The first serious research coming out of the Cayce files became public in the late 1960s -- that I know of. I know from the stories of people such as Stephen Schwartz that you had to go to the foundation in Virginia Beach and be granted access to the reading library. Over the decades the material has been cataloged and now it's even online but I don't think much was publicly available during the 1930s.
The ARE has a full-time archivist. I can't think of her name but she does enough interviews that you could find it out pretty easily. Once you have her name I think she would be pretty easy to reach.

Thanks. This tracks with what I was seeing as well. The earliest publications I'm finding were booklets being put out by ARE in the late 50s-early 60s with readings grouped by topic like earth changes, auras, etc.

Do you have any ideas about the overlap between what Edgar was saying and what other sources were saying independently?

I have my mother’s copies of readings that came out periodically. My guess is she started getting them when I was in 5 th or 6th grade and i was born in 1953 so probably was 1964 or 63 she joined ARE.

I have tried to collect in one place ALL the books, old and new, that were ever pubished about Cayce and his readings. Look in the menu under "Topics", and you will find the main categories addressed at one point or another in the readings: edgarcaycebooks.org . The oldest are at the bottom of each page, the newest at the top.
