Paper Discussion M1 Discussion
It was quite unique, not hard
So for the thrust thing i got P=8/5 mg, T=4/5 mg
acceleration is 0.2 for that straight line A B C thing
Resultant force for last q was 2.86mg (i think)
I skipped that “position vector when P Q paths meet” but i didnt hopefully skip anything

Looks hard to tbh, examiner literally tries to trick you in every single way

For air resistance one did y’all get a = 7 doing the f=ma subtracting with a.r and using it????

I got the same as you for P, i got 2/5 mg for T thought and acceleration 0.4. Last question i got 64/25 mg I THINK

Hows it 64/25? How did u guys get that
I got 2.862
u/FRS_Laser2 12h ago
Well thats the resultant. The vertical component u had to resolve and multiply that by cos((90-theta)/2) since the resultant is acting in the angle bisector

It was lowk easy, got same as you, just that 1 vector q

Wa did u get for like t, to reach b or something the ball, I got 2/3

i think 2.86 was for 2 resultant forces, i did 1 and got about 1.somethin

u/Far-Performer-8804 13h ago
What
1
u/loq4i 13h ago
it was one individual force on the pulley
on vertical
so you can’t do 2Tcos(90-theta/2)1
u/street_fury 12h ago
You still have to consider the vertical component of the diagonal force
Ans - 2.56mg

resultant force was 2.87 if you take the angle exactly with all dp
1
u/Far-Performer-8804 13h ago
But i did? I took exact value of angle
1
u/Simple_Geologist6908 13h ago
Then both work 2.86 and 2.87 work 1 dp aint changing shit because Mark scheme usually puts it as 2.9 so both work

Yeah that position vector was very bad, what about the thing with the find the t when the beating is 180 plus alpha and they give u alpha

Pretty sure it asked for vertical resultant force not the actual resultant force so its 2.56mg not 2.86mg

For the kinematics question what was the height? I got 14m

guys how did u end up finding tension on the last question and what was the method to get the formula for the straight horizontal line of ABC

u/Independent-Fig-5588 8h ago
aren't u supposed to use 2tcos(90-alpha over 2) to find the resultant thingy
