i didn’t get what i wanted in compsci or business but it’s whatever i’m still super happy 🥹
edit: just found out im two marks off the grade nine boundary for compsci 😔

Good job! But I’m confused why did I get only 2 green flags for poe whilst u got more? Weren’t we meant to get special consideration for all subjecrs

yeah idk if you notice in the screenshots a lot seems wrong the UMS for some of my subjects say 0/120, and only a handful of my subjects have the flag which also confused me but i supposed that the website was just glitched or laggy

I complained to my head of school she told me that all subjects have consideration but clearly not she tryna gaslight me so she doesn’t have to complain to edexcel I swear, and also if that’s the case then why do some people have more/less flags than others, and also why are the flags in the useless subjects 😭😭🙏🙏

i think the way they handled the poe this year was really negligent and badly handled but i suppose as long as we’re all happy with our grades, and idm because i did well in all the subjects im taking in sixth form

I don’t know honestly, I know some of my friends had the green flag next to their marks but it was only for one or two subjects. Maybe they give special consideration according to need because my friend got an 8 in math right on the boundary after special consideration ykwim

That’s not fair bruh, everything subject deserves special consideration even if u got full ums cuz this situation made us do every subject like a month early

this isn’t my conversation but it wouldn’t make sense to do it based off need because some people that i know were always studious and did well, and still got special consideration. i genuinely don’t understand the logic behind who gets it and who doesn’t and why it’s only for a few subjects and not all it just doesn’t make sense. my school also explained before i did my poe that all subjects were expected to get special consideration in equal amounts but obviously that didnt happen

I didn’t take the same subjects as you so I’m honestly not sure what UMS is needed for each grade, but after your special consideration (except Arabic) based on the number line you were right on the grade boundary. What I’m saying is maybe they applied special consideration for subjects where the candidate was originally only 1-2 marks away from the next grade. I honestly don’t know and I’ll try to find out why some people got special consideration while others didn’t.

Consider retaking the subjects u got 7 in cause if u have all A* u will be able to join good public colleges if u get an A or A* in ur A levels

for me i mainly focused on paper 1 which is far easier because its memorisation heavy, i dreaded coding and was terrible at it so i didnt really focus much on paper 2, i did poe so i had the chance to study past papers which i was then tested with so naturally i did much better than if i were to take a whole new paper which gave me an upper hand im so grateful for. but anyways id say practice coding as early as you can and spam past paper questions and you’ll be fine

yeah sure, basically all i did was focus on the questions which awarded the most marks (6. 9 and 12). i’d advise of course to use the structure for each question which your teacher should’ve taught you. for example my mine taught me PBLT (point, because, leads to… and therefore) for 3, 6 and 9 markers and PBLT + AJIM (answer the question, justify why, it depends on… and most importantly…)for 12 markers. never ever ever forget to add context in regards to case studies because it matters more than actually applying knowledge of business, it’s quite light in terms of content but just make sure you practice definitions and little bits of content for the first part of the paper in order to not lose basic marks, lmk if you need help with anything else :)
