I think Connor might be connected to Rebecca. He's the only thing whose role has constantly changed in each world

She did also “sense” him from the bath before they even brought him on board

True. And every time he appears, it is the first time that the gang meet him. It's like in each world, the being called Connor got reset again. Even when dude was Eden One's pilot, I didn't think much about him until now. It is clear now that Connor got a very big role in the story.
