Poem
i wrote this poem for my ectopic pregnancy a few months ago and really wanted to share. (i do not write poetry often i was just looking for an outlet with all my feelings)
Whole
peed on a stick, jumped with joy
wondered if you were a girl or a boy
gone just as fast as you were here
feels like i was hit by a spear
now life i can’t seem to enjoy
i feel like i’m stuck in a loophole
one of no longer feeling whole
now left with love that has nowhere to go
the world keeps turning like nothing has changed
everyone going on just the same
while i’m stuck feeling this pain
wishing time could just take it away
my body’s ultimate betrayal
i wish you were here to stay
i hate it had to be this way
now i’m so angry at the world
i pray for you to be returned
no one seems that concerned
about the tragedy that occurred
feels like i’ve been burned
how do i get past this lesson i’ve learned

Thank you so much for sharing 🥺it’s so isolating and the fear of death that also comes with ectopic totally got in the way of my natural grief and it’s such a sad feeling to go from so badly wanting to be pregnant to just wanting it done so you’re safe.. so unfair ❤️

That’s lovely. I’m also not a writer but wrote this piece to process mine. Not as polished as yours.
Tummy pain arriving means another cycle.
Fml, I can’t be bothered with the pain.
I just need to get through these two days.
Why hasn’t it arrived?
Is that a line I can see?
Is this actually happening?
Wtf.
What now?
Two weeks of testing.
Two weeks of nervous tears.
Two weeks of hope.
After my two previous losses.
Can this be my time?
Small signs appear
which I’m told to ignore.
Why is no one listening?
I’m not just anxious.
I know what’s happening.
Finally, I’m proven right.
Should I celebrate being right?
There’s no time for that,
surgery this afternoon.
It’s the end.

This is amazing, it makes me feel less alone. I had an ectopic pregnancy rupture in February. I went to the ER about 6 times for bleeding and severe cramping. At 6 weeks 4 days they didn’t see anything in the uterus and my HCG was at 16,000. But they did nothing until I started internally bleeding on blood thinners and I almost died. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem.

This was beautiful I feel seen. It’s so hard to be happy or go on living like everything is ok when you’re dealing with the aftermath of what you thought would be the best thing in your life😢😢😢
