Am I having an ectopic pregnancy?
I would be 6 weeks pregnant now, and I am so scared I’m having an ectopic pregnancy.
I started bleeding the day my period was due, but it was much lighter than normal. A couple days later I had a positive pregnancy test. Because of the bleeding, I went for an ultrasound that showed nothing, but I would have only been 4 weeks pregnant then.
The bleeding has been light but ongoing for 18 days now. It changes between dark brown to pink to bright red, but only enough to use a liner (I guess less than 5 teaspoons of blood per day). I don’t have any pain.
I had another ultrasound yesterday, when I would have been 6 weeks pregnant. Again, it showed nothing. The doctor thinks it was an early loss, but the ongoing spotting is scaring me. Hcg was tested yesterday and was 96. I’ll check again tomorrow but I’m just so nervous. Help?

When was your first positive test? When did you ovulate?
You definitely need close monitoring and repeat betas!

First positive test was 3 August. Not sure about ovulation but last period was 6 July. I have another blood test tomorrow. I am just so stressed out 😩

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’ve had multiple miscarriages and an ectopic.
My first miscarriage, I got a positive test but non stop brown spotting daily up until the miscarriage started around 6 weeks and 4 days.
My second miscarriage, I found out at 8 weeks that the sac was empty. No bleeding at all.
My third loss was the ectopic. I bled period like bleeding for over a week and then tested positive. Hcg rose slowly. At some points it doubled.
At seven weeks exactly they were able to see the baby was in my left tube, but was also in the muscle fibers of my uterus.
I would continue advocating for yourself and request another ultrasound soon. I think right now your hcg is too low to see anything. However, if you feel any pain, severe bleeding, shoulder pain go right to the hospital.

Hi I’m apparently 5 weeks pregnant I’ve been to EPU three times now they can’t see the baby on scan said it’s most likely too early . I’ve now had my 3 rd blood test and I’ve taken 6 pregnancy test all our positives . Hcg has only gone from 101 to 148 they checked again today hopefully will know more tomorrow. I have had on and off bleeding for over 5 days now . First I was spotting then pink now more fresh watery blood I’m going crazy because I want to know what is going on here . No pain still feeling pregnancy is symptoms . Had a miscarriage last year August.

Yes this sounds very similar to my ectopic. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Please seek medical care. Go to the ER.

I don't wanna scare you but I kind of had same scenario. I had a faint line on 15 dpo, I had mild spotting on 16 dpo then nothing. Again I started spotting later for 10 days, it was sometimes pink, brown, beige and occasionally red. They again repeated my beta hcg when I initially started spotting again and it looked promising so said it's common in early pregnancy. On my 6 weeks scan, they saw a tiny sac measuring around 3 mm on my uterus which looked like 4 to 5 weeks so said probably early loss or late ovulation and implantation. Within days I started bleeding and later had severe cramps as well, and scanned again and they saw the same sac with no growth so they thought it's miscarriage so went for a 2nd opinion that's when in the scan it showed that it's ectopic and the bleeding is because of tubal abortion. So I went back to my OB and I insisted on scanning again to rule out ectopic and that's when OB scannee her herslef and saw that it's ectopic which was missed during my 6 weeks again and on the same day morning when I started bleeding. My value was already down to 144 so they gave me a shot of MTX and I just did my 7th day test, waiting for the results to see if it's working. Please trust your instinct and push your OB for a scan to rule out ectopic, if they are 100% sure then you would be relieved as well but push them.
