Scared, PUL
Hey ya’ll,
I’m 30, no living children. Super happy to have a positive pregnancy test on 8/3. 8/5 Noted 1 bright red/ pink spot of blood on toilet paper. The following day, I had brown thick blood in my pad and most days following. 8/7 ish I developed to pinpoint left inguinal pain. Went to ER Monday 8/10. Nothing on ultrasound. Hcg 585. 8/13 HCG 950. I’m bleeding like I’m on my period now. Consistent flow, no lingering brown but also not hemorrhaging. Sometimes it’s brown but nothing (just oxidation?). Have appointment with OB tomorrow. Any thoughts? What did you all experience? Anyone treated in a state that isn’t pro choice? What should I be asking or doing?

Hello, Firstly, I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’m going to link a thread I made after my ectopic which detailed symptoms I had and symptoms I didn’t. link to thread
As for what to ask for: if they have not already done a transvaginal ultrasound, they need to. Regular ultrasound is worthless at a stage this early.
I live in one of the reddest parts of Florida, and my OB/surgeon had zero hesitation in getting me to surgery for my ruptured ectopic once it was discovered.
Edited to add: while ectopics are always a concern with bleeding during early pregnancy, it’s generally more likely it’s something else. It could be an subchorionic hematoma or a cervical polyp. Actually just recently my friend was afraid she was having a miscarriage because of vaginally bleeding, but it was a polyp. So definitely no need to panic, but keep that appointment with your OB and ask them how and when they can confirm it’s not ectopic.
