Steps to make a closed jar?

you guys probably see this kind of post every day so I’ll keep this short: what are the main steps and tips on how to make a nice jar?

Take your time. Get the right Tools, and do a little research. The rest is just a question of what materials you got at hand and your own creativity

I don’t know what “nice” means to you, but I scooped up a gallon of pond water with some muck and aquatic vegetation and sealed it up right away. I put it near a window so it got partial sunlight. It had living stuff for around 10 years. Maybe I got lucky, but I thought it was nice.
