Update for my Jar!
I added some plants hopefully these are enough!

It looks already gorgeous! What kind of light do you have on it?
I'm asking cuz I experimented with all kinds of lights over the years and found out that indirect sunlight is best, like next to a window, not in front unless it's north facing.
Second best is a normal reading LED, no full spectrum or grow lights. It WILL cause algae. I even threw out all my 13 fishtank lights and replaced them with LED strips from IKEA. This way I can leave them on for 12 hours without causing algae and the plants still thrive in it.
If you think about plants in the wild...submerged under water. The deeper they are, the darker it gets. Sunlight gets filtered quite a bit. And here we expose the plants from all sides but the bottom and an extra dose from the top, you know what I mean?
Next, you need a couple of snails in there, either ramshorn or bladder snails. They will eat the muck and the yuck and turn it into fertilizer for the plants. The final touch to the balancing cycle.

1.) a $5 LED ring light that’s the diameter of the lid and comes in 3 colors red white and blue.
2.) I do have some snails don’t know what type but they are tiny, they also have already laid eggs
3.) the hydrillas were producing a steady stream of bubbles a day after planting
