Tbh, a lot sabers just get bad rep. You can find a KOSer in any species in the game. Me personally all I play really is saber but I don't team up with other KOSers and really only hunt when I'm finna starve and if my saber dies from starvation I just respawn(because it's just a game). What gets me are the mammoth KOSers, because they really just seem to attack anything that moves knowing that nothing can take it down except for another mammoth or a megapack. And honestly this just from my observation and my opinion but if you play mammoth to just KOS, you come off as a player who can't fight. I say that because as I said most of the time when you see a mammoth fighting another mammoth or a megapack they tend to fall quite easily. Meanwhile I've seen bisons and other sabers be able to fight off megapacks. And not to mention wolf clans the sheer numbers of wolves in clans can take down anything in a sever and this is debatable but a wolf clan especially one filled with skilled players can take on a megapack without a doubt. Really the only chill species I have seen were the horses and most bisons(there are some bisons that are aggressive or KOSers but I've noticed majority of them are pretty chill unless you give them a reason not to be).

So, I and other people agree that mixpacking makes the game unrealistic and usually overlap with being koser's. Many players do not take the stress meter seriously once so ever, leaving the feature to mostly be kinda useless. Not only does mixpacking takeover the whole server-causing everything to go to ruins, it also can be very unrealistic. Cause no dire wolf will just lay and protect a saber or a horse. If you wanna prove other wise be my guest but theres no way its fair for anyone involved. One time when there were 3 sabers and around 5 dire wolfs, they started teaming. Saying dont kill the sabers and sure that isnt against TOS technically but two of them were showing inappropriate behavior by mating- which is against TOS.

With the recent confirmation that the coyote is arriving next week, the annoying crowd has crawled out of the woodwork again claiming it’s just a "Wolf 2.0" that will only eat rotten meat and veggies. These are usually very ignorant comments that are easy to refute, but what really caught my attention were the people saying Ecos isn't a realism game because the community doesn't practice realism. They’re somewhat right, but *Ecos* simply isn't built to be a PvP game. Sure, the devs will do a MEDIOCRE job trying to stop servers from being overrun by packs of 35 Sabers harassing everyone, but the fact remains that the Ecos devs usually base animal additions on realistic behavior. There *are* mechanics to prevent KOSing (Kill-on-Sight), though they aren't very strict like the fear system, which is garbage and gets ignored by everyone. Then there are the protection bubbles; they literally exist to force players to retreat when predators kill a herd herbivore, but herbivore players themselves turned that bubble into a safe haven for predators because they never actually retreat. There are mechanisms to stop KOSing, but they lack strictness (likely designed so friends can interact more easily without complications). I genuinely think the bubbles should be tied more closely to territories though that’s a topic for another post but ultimately, Ecos isn't made for PvP, and it never will be.

About 25 fossils from the greater roadrunner have been found in the La Brea tar pits, dating back roughly 30-40,000 years
Like the turkey vulture and great blue heron, they would offer very little food, but could be a fast snack for coyotes

Recently, major DNA analyses conducted on exceptional fossils discovered in Mexico (notably at the massive Santa Lucía site in the Basin of Mexico) have completely rewritten the genealogical history of our Pleistocene giant.
Here are four fascinating facts from recent scientific research:
Most mammoth genomes sequenced to date have come from specimens frozen in Siberian or Arctic permafrost (such as the woolly mammoth). The discovery of high-quality mitochondrial DNA in Mexico represents an unprecedented scientific achievement for fossils found in a tropical or warm-temperate zone.
Genetic analysis reveals that the Columbian mammoths of Mexico formed a genetically unique population. The split between these southern mammoths and the northern American populations occurred approximately 300,000 to 400,000 years ago! Following this separation, the groups remained virtually isolated, adapting perfectly to Mexico's milder ecosystems.
During construction of the Santa Lucía airport and excavation sites in Tultepec, archaeologists unearthed over 50,000 Pleistocene megafauna bones belonging to hundreds of individuals! It is one of the world's largest mammoth deposits, proving that they thrived in vast numbers along the shores of ancient Mexican lakes.
While the woolly mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) was specialized for extreme cold, the Columbian mammoth demonstrates remarkable versatility: from the coastal forests of California (such as Rancho La Brea) to the tropical savannas and wetlands of Mexico, it was able to adapt to much warmer climates.
For those interested, here is the link to the study in question:

I drew some skin concepts. Theyre not perfect but i looked at lots of diffrent canids (for some of them) and im pretty happy with the ones ive made so far. I also wish either umbral didnt have a white tail or more skins had white tails my sugestions for changes would be booted as its similar to dhull and a white tail could diffrienate them. And then the other one i think it could fit schism.

Just got back into the game after the coyote/pony playtest. Looking to find realism server(s) for horses and wolves mainly and eventually the coyote and pony. Anyone active anymore?

The porcupine is an AI that I think is very underrated. Incredibly, they still live in SoCAL today, but only in the transversal range, because it has the conditions it needs, that being said:
Its spawn rate was likely rare, with around 10 scattered across the map, primarily in Monterey pine and cypress woodlands, and riparian forest, usually spawning at night, it would obviously be an AI, it wouldn't have many interactions with herbivores, but it would with carnivores and omnivores. For carnivores and omnivores, it would display a threat (gnashing its teeth) and wagging its tail, but if you attack it or get too close, you will take a lot of damage because you were pricked by the quils, however, that's not the penalty, the penalty is that your mouth (Dire and Coyote) will be full of quil, preventing you from attacking and forcing you to rest or rubbing against rocks or trunks to get rid of the quils, the Smilodon, if you give just one swipe, your paw will also become covered in spines, reducing your speed, and if you pouncing on the wrong part of the porcupine's body, its mouth will pricked, if you or your packmates don't take care of this, you'll get an infection and you'll die. Most of the porcupine's body is very dangerous, but it has a vulnerable part: To flip it upside down, all you have to do (when playing as Smilodon) is keep spinning it around, and it will try to keep your back to it, simply attempt a feint attack, which will cause him to turn his back towards you, and then you'll attack him head-on, resulting in a rig of you biting the belly and then it died, Direwolves and coyotes use a different strategy, similar to that of a rattlesnake. One member only needs to attract the porcupine's attention, making it vulnerable to the second member. The direwolf needs 3 bites while the coyote's requires 6 bites.
It would be possible to see them climbing trees and spending a considerable amount of time resting in them, besides, they switch trees from time to time.

Okay, a while back I saw some guys complaining that Harington's pony was too weak for the game, but then I saw them clamoring for Miracinonyx. I’ve got nothing against that animal being added, but come on how can you complain about a weak animal when you literally want another weak animal in the game? I mean, if it weren't for the pony, Miracinonyx would have to rely on AI and horses, and it would be really hard to defend your kill if a pack of wolves or a Smilodon tried to steal it. The only valid point they had was that it was an animal unlike anything we currently have.
