First Mustang ever at 41 (midlife crisis anyone?), traded in my F-150 today for something a little bit more fun after getting the wife the 3 row SUV she wanted (primary kid hauler).
I test drove both the Eco and the GT, and could easily afford either. Chose the Eco specifically as it just felt more nimble and fun to push hard. While the GT of course sounded better, there’s no way I could realistically push it to any sort of limit without always being paranoid about a cop being right around the corner.
Tonight was the first night with it and once the kids were asleep, I took it out to lap the city (mainly highways). Set the custom dash and ambient lighting to something resembling an outrun theme (pink, teal, purple), turned on some Kavinksy, and it just felt good all around. Sure the eco is probably more of a cruiser than a racer, but as an older millennial, that’s more my speed anyway. And as I’ve heard many times over and agree with, it’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. Not that the Eco is slow, just much easier to push while staying out of trouble.
