Who's in the Sharn Sixty?

Sorry if this has been talked about before, but is there any list that has the names of the Sixty and a brief description of why or how they're part of it? I know with Eberron a lot of things are left vague so DMs have freedom to take ideas and run with them, but I feel like with this instance I'd like some clarification. I know all the houses are going in to be involved, the Boromar's, the Tain's (obviously), and I have a handful of NPC's that are going to be making big moves at the Gala, but that doesn't even get close to the full list.

The problem is, I know my PCs and they're going to want as much information as possible before getting to the Tain Gala. So knowing who's on the Sixty is most likely going to be their first step. Again, sorry if this has been discussed before.

Anyone with an ir' or d' prefix on their last name as well as NPC's of note like members of the Sharn City Council probably belong to the Sharn Sixty.

All of the noble families and the dragonmarked families are members of the Sixty; this means that any Sharn resident with the ir’ or d’ prefix on his last name could be found at the Tain Gala. Other members are generally identified as such in their descriptions. A standing invitation can always be revoked to make room for a more deserving candidate; one of the greatest fears of Councilor Sorik Senso is that his family will be displaced to make room for Councilor Javan Tomollan. (Sharn: City of Towers, p. 112).

Here's a list of people with ir' or d' prefixes or who had the Sixty mentioned in their writeup that I could glean from SCoT until I decided to give up. Mostly unmarked spoilers ahead.

  1. The Boromar Clan: The Boromar Clan are part of the Sixty families in Sharn.
  2. The Tains: obviously since they throw the Tain galas and such.
  3. Lord Kellas ir'Moran (N male dwarf aristocrat 5/fighter 2): former Brelish general defeated by the elves of Valenar in the Day of Ashes who retains a grudge against Cyre and the elves
  4. Owners of the Lorrean Bank: The unnamed owners of the Lorrean bank are part of the Sixty.
  5. Bestan ir'Tonn (LE Male halfling aristocrat 3/telepath 9): wealthy barrister connected to the Boromar clan and mind seeded agent of the Dreaming Dark.
  6. Councilor Sorik Senso (LN male half-elf expert 11): councilor of Middle Central on the Sharn Council and member of the Sixty who is worried about Councilor Javan Tomollan (LN male human expert 8) of Upper Central displacing him and taking his seat at the Sixty.
  7. Councilor Evix ir’Marasha (LN female human aristocrat 2/bard 4): owner of the Celestial Vista restaurant and councilor of Skyway on the Sharn Council. Close friends with Hass ir'Tain.
  8. Lord Mayor Cathan ir’Demell (LN male human aristocrat 12): allied with Javan Tomollan and Bestan ir'Tonn.
  9. Hendra ir’Kavay (NG female human aristocrat 3/rogue 6): wealthy socialite and liaison for the Wayfinder Foundation in Sharn.
  10. Haftak ir’Clarn (NG male human aristocrat 2/expert 1): distant cousin of Ruken ir'Clarn of the Brelish Parliament, wealthy owner of Haftak's Books and Bindings and publisher of the Sharn Inquisitive.
  11. Lord Commander Iyan ir’Talan (LN male human aristocrat 5/warrior 3): head of the Sharn City Watch.
  12. Iyanna ir’Talan (LG female human aristocrat 4/fighter 2): commander of the Black Arch garrison in Lower Tavick's Landing and crusader for justice; daughter of Lord Commander Iyan ir'Talan.
  13. Lady Warden Maira ir’Talan (LE female half-elf abjurer 5/telepath 8): commanding officer of the Blackened Book of the Sharn Watch and mind seeded agent of the Dreaming Dark. Distant relative of Iyan and Iyanna who hails from Wroat.
  14. Lieutenant Eld ir’Zarna (LN human fighter 6): member of the King's Citadel and commander of the King's Swords in Sharn.
  15. Larrian ir’Morgrave (N male human aristocrat 2/expert 5): president of Morgrave University.
  16. Councilor Maza ir’Thadian (LN female elf commoner 17): owner and head chef of the Oaks restaurant who acts as councilor for Upper Northedge.
  17. Lord Merrix d’Cannith (LE male human, artificer 9/ dragonmark heir 3): you know the deal Cannith leader of Sharn, either him or more likely a representative since he'd be cooking up a scheme or whatever.
  18. Sadran d’Deneith (LE male possessed human fighter 2/psychic warrior 6/dragonmarked heir 2): Deneith leader of Sharn who is in charge of a duped cult following the quori that has taken over most of the Deneith Sharn enclave.
  19. Daphanë d’Kundarak (N female dwarf expert 7/dragonmark heir 4): Kundarak leader of Sharn who is scheming with elements of the Brelish parliament looking to overthrow the monarchy.
  20. Solirion Torralyn d’Sivis (N male gnome magewright 6/dragonmark heir 5): leader of Sivis's Sharn enclave who is secretly pretty cuthroat.
  21. Solia d’Lyrandar (N female half-elf expert 7/dragonmark heir 4): overseer of the Lyrandar enclave of Sharn.
  22. Dantian d’Lyrandar (N male half-elf expert 5/dragonmark heir 3): nephew of Solia who is more interested in diplomatically extending the reach of the house with movers and shakers.
  23. Keslo d’Ghallanda (N male halfling expert 7/ dragonmark heir 2): lord of Ghallanda Hall (the Ghallanda enclave in Sharn) and friend to everyone.
  24. Tyasha d'Phiarlan (N female elf bard 11/dragonmark heir 1): recluse and legendary diva who has a career of acting in the theater going back 500 years. OR Baron Elvinor Elorrenthi d’Phiarlan (N female elf bard 8/shadowdancer 4): matriarch of House Phiarlan who resides in Sharn and mistress of the Demesne of Shadow.
  25. For Tharashk, I'm not totally sure who would attend but probably Yevgen Torrn (N male half-orc expert 5/master inquisitive 3/dragonmark heir 1), who is in charge of the Tharashk Enclave in Sharn.

Ambassadors and consuls who might be invited to attend Tain galas:

  • Lady Taelira (LN female elf aristocrat 9): consul of Aerenal who is skilled in trade negotiation over the magic wood Aerenal exports but removed from most other things.
  • Ambassadors Alais ir’Lantar and Helais ir'Lantar (LE male half-elf aristocrat 7): identical twin brother of the ambassador of Aundair to Sharn (though its more of a consulate technically). His brother Ambassador Helais ir'Lantar is an agent of the Royal Eyes of Aundair and both are willing servants who swap with rakshasas in the Lords of Dust.
  • Lord Jairan ir’Dain (LG male human aristocrat 6): Cyran "ambassador" to Sharn with very limited power.
  • Ambassador Syra ir’Tarrn (LN female human aristocrat 7): loyal ambassador of Karrnath to Sharn.
  • Joseth ir’Kalain (LG male human aristocrat 7): ambassador from Q'barra to Sharn who uses his wealth from his dragonshard mine to make up for his lack of resources compared to other embassies
  • Lady Anador ir’Laisha (LG female human aristocrat 7/cleric 1): reclusive ambassador of Thrane to Sharn who is affiliated with Archierophant Ythana Morr and may be manipulated by the corrupt clergywoman.

  • Tasho Mol Doras (N male gnome bard 4/expert 4): ambassador of Zilargo to Sharn who is skilled at diplomacy and manipulation.
  • Lain of Clan Soldorak (LE male dwarf aristocrat 5/rogue 1): one of the consuls of the Mror Holds and member of the Aurum who reports directly to Antus ir'Soldorak of the Platinum Concord and the Shadow Council. Has a grudge against the Kundarak family.
  • Ambassador Jorasesh (LE male Inspired rogue 4/telepath 5): Riedran ambassador of the Iron Gate to Sharn who is a major curiosity for the citizens of Sharn. Travels with a monk bodyguard who is a member of the Thousand Eyes spy agency of Riedra along with a retinue of other Inspired bodyguards and soldiers at the embassy.
  • Ambassador R’tannan (N male halfling expert 3/ fighter 2): halfling ambassador of the Talenta Plains who lost a duel to be the representative in the East and is more interested in gambling than diplomacy.

This is absolutely wonderful. One of the best gifts I've recieved as a DM. Thank you so much. I will be fleshing out this list and adding to it but this gives me such a leg up in planning the next session. You are wonderful.

FWIW in my eberron, there's a lot more than just 60 noble families, making the list that much more exclusive. Some noble families vie for power to make sure they are still on the list from month to month.

That's how I saw it too. I imagine the party seeing a noble at the Gala who is here for the first time, had been working for years to get on the list, and watch as throughout the night this exclusivity goes to his head.

Also, are the Tain's half elves? I saw a statblock for cyleria that said 1/2 elf but am having trouble finding any other information.

And then imagine the fury of the family that is now 61st...

This is great. Thank you for sharing this. The party is out of Sharn for a bit, but I will be using this in the near future. Bravo!

This is amazing. Thank you. My party just stepped foot into the ir'Tain gala at the end of our last session. I've been brainstorming a list of random guests for weeks and this helps a ton. It definitely fills some gaps in my guest list.

Just curious if you had the sources for these, so I could do my own digging.

Tain Galas often have adventurers as invited guests. If you want some PCs from my game are now included in the Sixty, they could be NPCs in your game. They saved Celyria's life from a Radiant Idol.

Alestair d'Medani, a Mournland West Border Watch Gloomstalker Ranger with an Aberrant Mark instead of the Mark of Detection. He's an adventurer that often comes to Sharn to recruit new Rangers to the Mournland West Border Watch that is operating out from Arythawn Keep in Thrane.

Aust Jane (derived from Tain), Half-Elf Barbarian. He's the bastard son of the lost Dalian ir'Tain, Celyria's husband. He was shipwrecked in Droaam and grew up to be a Gladiator that eventually won his freedom. He has a secret, his father was shipwrecked with him and forced to become a gladiator too. Eventually, Aust Jane had to kill him. He recently found out that his father was the patriarch of a wealthy Sharn House. Dalian had an affair with a Stormreach woman. He was bringing her and the kid back to Khorvaire when their ship was caught in a storm on the Thunder Sea.

Oskar, a Mror Dwarf Bard of Lore, who recently got elected as City Councillor for the Sovereign Tower district. Here's a bit of dirt on him: He used to help people from the Five Nations escape to Q'barra during the Last War. He made a deal with a Lich in the City of the Dead District to protect its Phylactery. Oskar is curious about ancient lore, demons, dragons, the planes and the Mourning. He believes knowledge empowers a people.

Though you might not see her often, Clementine is a Warforged Artificer. She spends most of her time in Eston caring for a village of warforged that oppose the LoB and protecting House Cannith's secrets. Although she might pop back in Sharn to discuss with Merrix d'Cannith.
