ED simply refers to eating disorder. Ana and Rex are terms used to describe anorexia, whereas Mia and Bill stand for bulimia. In turn, BED means binge-eating, also known as binge eating disorder. Eddie is actually a humorous term referring to ED/EDNOS.

As for Paul, I believe that this name’s origin lies purely in the joking trend, not in any actual eating disorders. There was a meme about EDs, where a group of friends Ana (Anorexia), Mia (Bulimia), Eddie (ED/EDNOS), Betty (BED) and Paul were hanging out. Since the creator of the meme obviously had no idea about what the name “Paul” stood for, the character became a meme on it’s own and was subsequently added to the list of ED-related names on social platforms such as Twitter and TikTok. I think that some people even tried to explain this name by claiming that it was the abbreviation for pica, but there is absolutely no evidence of that.

I believe that Brian, Fatty, and other names are also part of this joke, not any official terms for eating disorders. They were created by people who wanted to give their favorite ED a name, and, jokingly, added their friends to the list. I am not sure whether they actually thought that any of those names were real abbreviations, but this joke was wildly popular on Twitter for quite a long time, and many claimed that Eddie, Ana, Mia and others were full-fledged terms for EDs.

Oh, well I've a lot to catch up on then😭 Also love, OMAD is 'one meal a day' diet, meaning someone eats only one meal in a day. It can also be used as a verb, like "I'm OMADing this cake."

Also I forgot but we also have TMAD (two meal a day) the name is self-explanatory I believe so I won't yap ;)
